Well, do any of you have holiday traditions? Mom and I bake every year - not only tasty, but a cheap way to gift people who aren't in our direct sphere of gift-giving influence.

After I took that shot, I made about a 100 chocolate pizzelles. Very yummy. And no, I'm not giving out great grandma's recipes. :P

Doesn't have to be food. Could be anything! Any fond memory, or yearly habit.

Those look good. *heads to kitchen for a snack to slake sweet tooth*

We do a pretty common pet thing (I figure). We have a stocking for our cats and load it up with plenty of treats, jingle-bell noisy toys, etc. Drives our cats crazy; every year we enjoy the weeks of cat-antics as they plot to reach the unreachable stocking. Cruel? Perhaps. But it certainly does build the payoff; xmas day, our cats are nuts over those toys, let me tell you.

Say, thirtyshackles, is that a new avatar? Nice.

Haha. You folks are brutal! No more Birdo; I promise.

And yes, I do try to make the cookies presentable. They are gifts afterall! I'm trying my best not to eat them. I admit, I do make a few mistakes (on purpose.) Edible mistakes.

Cats... are an infinite source of amusement.

Ummm not that I am aware of...my parent throw a party and there are usually 5 or more I have to attend with them....stopped going last year....thank God...

Free food and drink is good, might attend one or two for that...

I am thinking about having Star Trek/Star Wars/Lord of the Rings marathons (Sorry no Christmas specials...)....or maybe buying a book Christmas Eve/New years and finishing it by morning....that sounds like fun....

When the clock strikes twelve on New Year's Eve, we open these little packets containing 12 raisins. You're supposed to eat them at that moment to give you luck for the 12 months of the new year. I dunno where that tradition is from. I like preparing the packets. I just don't trust anyone else to count the raisins.

edit: Oh, those look delicious, thirtyshackles!
