You can search for classical songs by "mood". And they have every mood imagiable. Mr. James said this was an INTP thing, wanting to hear music that fits the mood you're in...

This actualy might solve my problem of sorting the boring tired classical from the good stuff. Thanks.

Just have to say that I really like this site. Although, I had no idea that there were so many adjectives that could be used to describe mood.

I love Scarlatti, lol. And thanks for the link...I've always found searching for great classical music to be a chore. There's a lot of crap to wade through to get to the good stuff.

My favourite piece of Classical music is Mussorsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition".
I prefer the piano version to the fully orchestrated version.
Thank you for the link :)

Mozart, Beethoven and Strauss mainly. Probably the Danube waltz (but is that because of so many fond memories of the Elite computer game? heh)

I also love the choral works - "Brahms Requiem" and Rachmaninov's "Vespers"

there are some more glaring omissions like:
Stravinsky?
Bartok?
and, searching for 20th century music yields no tracks.
