Anyone caught up in this?

Oh yes. It's quite the clusterfuck.

I'm going to guess that we have gotten at least 7-10 inches. It has been a whiteout most of the day, just started clearing within the last hour, but now it's dark so I don't really care.

You guys have been getting it bad this year. Didn't you also just get an ice storm?

Meanwhile, in California, we may be facing water cutbacks due to lack of rain.

Yeah, this year has been good so far, but the last few have been terrible, lake levels are way, way down, farmers are having a lot of trouble, watering bans etc. , it has been dry has hell, we need this badly.

As inconvenient as it is, I hope it continues.

mhhh...I don't like my region's climate....not enough snow...dam the last time we got a big dump in one day was 4 or 5 years ago after a super dry Novemeber and December (though during October we had snow...) we got a huge dump over night...it was a Saturday and I had to go downtown for a physics project...crazy...most roads where covered and people had to shovel their cars out of/through alleyways...

So enjoy your day of watching city services/government fail miserably to conquer nature...

Aside from the obvious beauty of it, that is my favorite part, although the county I live in does a really nice job at keeping up, it's when I leave the county that I laugh at their ridiculous failures.

This snowstorm has seriously just royally fucked me. I went home last Saturday from being with my parents since Wednesday for Christmas, and I swore that I would go home yesterday after the party and before the storm (got sick of them). Hehe, even though most people went 75 mph, I went no faster than 50 all the way home because I kept sliding around.

Before I left Wednesday, I had few groceries left. Now, I kid you not, my fucking garage is frozen shut! And my friends are all back home! I'm alone, my food is short, I have no body soap, and I can't buy more. FUCK!

Erick, plz come up and save me :).

Ha! My youngest had to take a mallet and a screwdriver out just to chisel off the ice holding the outside garbage can closed so he could take out the trash! The dh had to beat the piss out of his car doors to open them to go pick up dinner. (I parked in the garage-I am so smart)
I stopped for groceries and booze yesterday and I'm not leaving the house until 9;30 tomorrow for work!

Lessons learned Zeph, lessons learned.
This is fucking Minnesota! What the hell did you think was going to happen?:smooch:

Lols, yeah you get the last laugh don't you?. Yeah I'm screwed, because I have no chisel! What was I thinking? I thought the garage would open, because I have never seen a garage door that was frozen shut by ice! Seriously!

Oh my, I have. Remember the snowstorm of 91? Wait, you were what? like 4? So I guess you don't.
This is pansy ass weather. I could use my high heels to kick the ice off the garage door and pry that bitch open without mussing my hair, but I'm hard core like that;)

I was going to drive the 20 minutes to Best Buy to get a gift card for my dad. Instead I drove a couple of blocks, did a U-turn and went to B&N instead. Snow... bleh.

I went shopping today. Crazy.

I went trick or treating in the '91 blizzard, got tons of candy, because no one else did.

Holy shit, I was pregnant with my first in the '91 blizzard, my family was flipping clean out worrying how they would get me to the hospital, she wasn't born until January, but that whole winter was nuts. After the Halloween pummeling I couldn't get my damn car out for like a week and a half. So cool.

Love Minnesota.

Traveled about 180 miles or so today in it. One stretch of road was not plowed, the snow was about 18" deep for a spell. No worries about sliding in the ditch since the ruts would prevent that.

Later in the day there was a driver in front of me riding their brakes on some very slick spots, I made sure to make a nice distance between us.

Eh, if I had to leave the house it might be a problem. Definitely some skidding when I went out earlier.

Gotta love 4-wheel drive.
