I love nothing more than farting around people. It's a victory! It doesn't smell bad for you, and it discomforts the others deeply.

I've only had one bad memory with farting, and this is when I once farted so loud I was in the back of the classroom, and the teacher in the front made a remark about it. A cheesy joke about sowing wind and harvesting storm. It was most peculiar, because usually I know when I fart, but this one went out without me knowing about it. I was as surprised it had escaped as anyone else.

Now, it's not something that is to be done in civilised company, but amongst peers, or friends, there is nothing more fun than farting. Well, okay, there are things more fun than farting, of course. But it's still fun, anyway.

I'm immune to my own farts. It's a good thing, too, otherwise I'd be dead.
For some reason, if I'm out in the woods on a campout, I don't know why, but I get fairly bad gas. Don't know if it's the fresh air or the fod or the trees or what, but every couple of minutes, there it goes. Sometimes it's the loud nearly odorless, sometimes it's silent death (or sulfur doom, or something to that effect) ands sometimes it's a combination of both.

One paticular campout... I was in a tent with some of the other guys, playing cards. Things went their course, and I farted. It was rank as hell. They kicked me out, to go to my own tent, and they went on a walk leaving their tent open to help get the smell out.
Twenty minutes later, when they got back, it was still there.
Karma got them back for kicking me out and making me sleep in the gear tent by flooding their tent later that night and leaving me perfectly dry.

Feed your cat good quality cat food and that won't happen. Maybe it true of people too! We should all eat Science Diet. Ack! I can't believe their is a thread on this subject and worse yet I read it and posted!

I actually think a fart is a form of communication. It expresses a sense of relief. You can't fart when you're all tense and nervous. Farting in the company of others tells them "I am relaxed at this point in time, and to show I'm not lying I present you with proof".

Is it a form of communication we need? No. But I do think farting has merits.
