We have our terrorists. Yes, we do, and not one, but two.

So it turns out that the Munaf guy was actually a terrorist claiming to be a hostage. He and another guy, Hayssam, were working together as "terrorists", and it is thought that they were connected with highly placed Romanian governmental officials, some say that even with the president.
Currently, Haysam ran away to Syria, and gives phone interviews from time to time (when he ran away he was considered a terrorist, and was supposed to be gusrded while waiting for trial), and Munaf is sentenced to death (still waiting to see how that will turn out).
Balkan terrorists!
EDIT: I will have to tell you the entire story, but it's a long one, so I'll do that tomorrow. Sorry!

He has an obsession with Hustler, who happens to be the Numa Numa kid. I seen pics, so it's totally true.

You mean this? Yeah, it's a pretty effective earworm. But Limey, what's with bringing up ambiguously gay boy bands in a thread about terrorism? I think you might have issues.
When I think of a Balkan terrorist, this is the guy who immediately jumps to mind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkan

It's true. Examine the evidence for yourself.

Those guys may be ambiguously gay by western standards, but they're considered wild and crazy playboys in Romania.
regarding the story, I'd hardly call them terrorists, looks more like they went there, staged their own kidnap and played brinkmanship to try and get Romania to pull out of Iraq, (who knew).

Yeah, a lot of European men have a tendency to register as false positives on American gaydar.
A relatively accurate depiction of how most Americans perceive the Numa Numa video:

If anything it looks like a publicity stunt that went too far.

Oh the times I've said "It's OK! I'm not gay, I'm BRITISH! (and FABULOUS!)
That video had no such ambiguity, but they're Spaniards. In my vacationing experience, Spaniards aren't too fussy anyway. Kinda like a cross-breed dog that I grew up with called "Caesar". Caesar didn't give a hoot about "heat" breeding cycles or even the sex of his partner, he would happily "matt the fur" of seated canine partners.
