good idea, it's fun doing that on a forum, other forums have it

cliqueishness is a defense mechanism against an external world which isn;t in line with your wishes but which there's no succesful way to confront. open rating of all posts would let everyone see who rated them, so at times when you think someone's post sucked, and want to let them know but can't be arsed to justify it, you can just give 'em minus reputation points, eventually provoking an open conflict which will resolve the conflict, and therefore all problems will eventually be solved and there will be no need for cliqueishness.:banana:

Something vaguely familiar about this. Oh yeah, Amazon.com. If you got a consistently low rating, would you be thrown out? Or just disappear cause your self esteem couldn't take another punch?
