View Full Version : Closet Sensor Wars: Kathara vs. Edahn

Which of these two is actually a sensor? Kathara insists on making sensorish threads over and over and Edahn has changed his type about 50,000 times, finally settling on the ever descriptive xxxx, but which of the two is a sensor?

Shoot!

Hmm. I would actually vote for Sojourner, but since she has nothing to do with this, I'll go with Kathara. Though Edahn has changed his type many a time, I don't think this reflects "S" characteristics.

Kathara for sure.

Edahn may be a feeler though.

Don't worry. I am sure that, one day, you will be. (For a little while.)

I think we could better determine this if the two of them went on a date together and we listened to the nature of their awkward first date chit chat.

What's in it for Edahn if they do go on a date?

A general adventure. Edahn strikes me as the type of person who enjoys new experience in life.

Now I'm thinking of Taming of the Shrew.

I'd say kathara. I can read edahn's posts fine but kathara's posts leave me annoyed, all the time, all the posts.

To be serious for a moment, the term sensor has taken on a somewhat pejorative connotation around intpc. A lot of people around here don't really care for Kathara and so by calling her a sensor they can slyly insult her. I have my doubts about her N, but I'm willing to chalk up some of the S posts to language and culture missteps and general awkwardness.

I'm also hesitant to say she has to be a S because I don't know her in real life. Some people don't communicate well online. That being said, she comes off as fairly S like, especially when she misses the point of posts or misinterprets a poster's intent.

...along with the term 'extroverted', 'feeler' and 'judging'. Surprised?

See, I don't see extrovert as being used in a pejorative manner on this board. Judgers get bashed if they want to impose order and rules on the board. Feelers are sometimes canned for acknowledging the issue at hand, but ignoring the merits of it.

Sensors just take crap for having things go over their heads or missing the point. It's more of a perceived lack of cleverness as far as the sensor-bias goes.

Sounds like it's time for a new poll: Which one do you hate most:

[ ] extroverts
[ ] sensors
[ ] feelers
[ ] Js
[√] all of them

Edahn strikes me as someone who is really looking for good things and truth in his life, and Kathara as someone who is really looking to be the blindest she can possibly be. Neither strike me as sensors.

I would not say that Kathara TRIES to be blind. I'd think it comes naturally, unless you have read into something I missed. Anyways, she's gone now. Let's move on.

It really looks like it, to me - when you see her going on about how guys should be doing all sorts of things, and how she deserves certain privileges on account of how female she is and all that. She is blind, but she also wants to stay that way and/or be that way.

Anyway, this is a forum and you can't really get to know anyone on these things anyway.

I find it hard to "get to know" anyone IRL as well, not just on forums. I think being "in shit" is the best way. When time is limited, when bullshit has to be cut, that's when the raw insides surface. That's when ya know if your buddy is loyal or a real selfish bastard.

I would be much more likely to call Hustler a sensor than Edahn. It is not an insult, but Hustler's thick skin and decisiveness seem to be more S. In fact, he reminds me very much of my ISTP friend, who has absolutely no patience for my philosophical insecurity. Edahn, if anything, is very Ne and Ti. Haunted by possibilities in every direction, and always trying to logically explain them and change things to fit just right, philosophically.

As for INFP speculations - my roommate is an INFP, and he doesn't have that Ti drive to change, or destroy dissonance in life.

Hustler seems like just the type who could be an ISTP and not even consider it a possibility because he is an ISTP. ISTPs can be extremely decisive about big things like this. On the other hand, they can spend 2 hours at the grocery store because smaller-scale possibilities can overwhelm them even more than large-scale ones. This can definitely lead them to think of themselves as indecisive, which would cause them to test more N than they really are.

I honestly don't think that Hustler is very N. I hadn't even analyzed it until now, but now that I have, it seems quite clear that he is either S, or not strongly N. Edahn is definitely very N, and just as T. And he (Hustler) clearly needs to work on understanding this shit a little better. How would Edahn's propensity for creating "feely" (and they aren't even feely) threads make him an SP? That's stupid. SPs are blunt and don't worry much about philosophy or deeper meaning. They are also often seen as assholes. Doesn't sound like Edahn to me--it sounds exactly like Hustler.

I also remember reading an ISTP description that clearly stated: "if ISTPs had it their way, they would assume no responsibility at all in life and do nothing." I also seem to recall several threads in which Hustler clearly and decisively stated that jobs are for suckers. So yeah. ISTPs are great, I find that there is a lot to argue about with them, and I like their sense of freedom. So in no way am I trying to say Hustler is stupid because he might be an ISTP. He is pretty damn smart.

I think you have a distorted sense of history. The third option has been making an occasional appearance since early 2006 (http://forums.intpcentral.com/showthread.php?t=9768).

In any psuedo-democracy there should always be an option for the people too stupid or uninformed to vote so they may feel a part of the process and that they "have a voice".

but you don't have tell them those votes are shredded, then burned, then pissed on and buried in the outhouse.
