How hard can it be?

How hard can it be?

I actually want him to stop trying to kill himself. It's amazing how hard he failed at failing though. What's next, he's gonna jump from a skyscraper and land in a garbage bin and survive?

EDIT: GAH, old news. I wonder if he's still alive.

My guess is he'll sell the movie rights and decide to live.

That is truly disturbing.

So the next time he tries, there will be some discrete people (in black?) making sure he doesn't fail again... Or perhaps the discrete people need to "persuade" him to try again...(!)

I'd give him one more attempt.
It's probably like driving tests, if you fail three times, you're probably just not cut out for driving.

Or give him a medal.
It's probably more difficult to not kill yourself when messing with a chainsaw.
So that is some achievement.

He must've been so pissed off when he woke in the hospital

He should have used the suicide bridge (http://www.prague.net/blog/article/149/the-suicide-bridge-in-prague).

I have to say, using a chainsaw to kill yourself with is a brave thing to do. If you're going to survive a suicide, this is a far more awesome one to live through than taking 70 something pills and lying on your ass.

If you were a paramedic arriving at a scene of a suicide like this, and you were certain you could only restore the persons life back to a vegetative state... would you kill them and tell everybody they were dead when you arrived, or try to save their life anyway?

I've thought about that before, especiall after reading "First, Do No Harm". It poses very simliar questions. I personally believe that we should have some sort of law in place allowing for people that would remain in vegetative states upon resuscitation or other medical aid.

It would be a much harder decision to make if faced with that situation and knowing that you would ultimately have someone's blood on your hands. It would be very hard to overcome the haunting thoughts that maybe it really wasn't his time to go... I mean come on, how do you fail THAT bad? That's pretty bad... both times... I imagine the breaking the legs part would almost be comical... :happpy:

save him. thinking it's my place to decide whether another human should live or die based solely on what i'd prefer or my opinion on what he'd prefer would be nothing but a ballsy ego kick.

Suppose you arrive on the scene of the crime and you find a letter that says: "If you find me and I happen to still be alive, PLEASE KILL ME. I do not want to live anymore, and would hate to have to spend an eternity on life support with the inability to escape the hell of my own thoughts".

Do you kill him then?

nope. people say things they don't mean in the heat of a moment. i still wouldn't take the chance. if they wanta kill themselves bad enough they can just do it when it's not on my time.

Agreed, it's not the paramedic's place to make that decision.

What if it's not a question of whether to kill him or not, but rather to save him or not? What if he is dying and should you choose to stand back, he will die. Do you let him die or do your job and save him?

How the hell did he get the chainsaw stuck in his spine?

Guess he got nervous... How do you have something as big as a friggin' chainsaw and miss the jugular? :wtf:

Edit: Haste makes waste. Seems to me he needs to spend more time planning...

The real irony is he is to stupid to die. Most people here I'm sure could plan a decisive takeout of ones self.

Evolution at it's worst.

So I started to post about how he should have used an angle grinder as it would have been loads more effective. Then I decided to do a little google image search for an image of an angle grinder so people could get a good idea of the machine I was talking about.

Well, let's cut this story short. Image 4 of a google image search for "angle grinder" is a fucking horrorshow.

Male sustained deep laceration to right side of face from broken blade of Angle Grinder sustaining multiple compund #'s and severe R eye injury resulting in complete loss of vision in that eye.

Yeah, you can search for it yourself

And so I did... I can't help but try and figure out what side is up on that poor face? Interesting... but it just seems that someone that stupid would end up like dude in Image 4 or worse... not dead. Poor guy. I guess ignorance isn't always bliss, huh...
