Still on a steep learning curve. I started easy - said a plate. It took 28 questions. I'll come back when it's smarter.

if you don't want it to be right you can consciously or unconsciously misanswer questions. when you know how it works (read below), answering honestly, it seems to only be limited by very uncommon items.
i did not know the system had 16 years of answering data behind it so i chose something not to uncommon, space shuttle.
You were thinking of a space shuttle.
Can it save your life? You said Maybe, I say No.
Is it pleasurable? You said Maybe, I say No.
Does it have a horn? You said Maybe, I say No.
Can you walk on it? You said Maybe, I say Doubtful.
Does it get wet? You said Sometimes, I say No.
Can you live in it? You said Maybe, I say No.
Contradictions Detected
It does not matter if our answers disagree, as over time the game will change its answers to reflect common knowledge. If you feel that the game is in error, the only way to fix it is to play again.

PLAY 20Q ONLINE

Who Invented 20Q?
Robin Burgener, the inventor of 20Q is based in Ontario, Canada. He began working on 20Q in 1988, with the game running on a 5 1/4 inch floppy disk. Until 1996 over 2000 games were played in this way, creating the basis for the larger online experiment, which led to the launch of the pocket version by Radica.
How does the 20Q guess what you are thinking?
The artificial intelligence behind the game is a neural-network, similar to a human brain. A brain, or neural-network, is built from neurons connected by synaptic connections. A human brain has about one hundred trillion (100,000,000,000,000) synaptic connections. The 20Q.net online version has about ten million (10,000,000), and the pocket version has about two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000). The game uses the neural-network to choose the next question as well as deciding what to guess.
How did it get so good at guessing the right answer?
The 20Q.net Web site was created in 1996 and currently plays over twelve thousand games per day. The game is still learning through playing and analyzing the results from the games played to enable it to learn new objects and hone its skills on items currently in its vocabulary. Radica's version of 20Q has taken the most popular items to create an addictive and sometimes uncannily accurate pocket mind-reader!
How many items does it store in its memory?
How many items can you think of?
What are the strangest items it will guess?
Try it and see. So far we've got it to guess Samurai Sword, Love, Duck Billed Platypus and many other oddments.
