I just realized that the Nazi bombings of Warsaw in 1939 were not unlike the American bombings of Baghdad in 2003. Other than the Germans intended goal of near total demolition the terror tactics are the same.

In 1939 the Germans recorded the destruction wrought and sent copies to other nations as a show of force. They called this tape the Baptism of Fire.

So then how does this differ from the campaign of Shock and Awe where we heavily bombed a city as a show of force to the rest of the world? It was national media companies that covered the most recent event.

Well I guess the events don't differ at all, if you act like the historical context was identical for each, which is absurd. Look at what else happened in 1939: Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact (the nazis agreed to not attempt to destroy only one country in Europe :banghead: )and Britain, France, Australia, New Zealand and Canada all declared war on Germany. So where do the modern USA-nazi parallels lie there?

I was referring to the similarity of titles to events.

Because we were using precision guided cruise missiles on military targets instead of leveling the entire city + thousands of civilians?

I realized you mentioned this in passing, but I believe this is a very big difference.
