Anyone who doesn't vote INTP is a retard, because INTPs are superior, plain and simple.

I think it's an interesting poll. What exactly do people want in their president? In the past it was much less about who you would rather have a beer with. Just because this is an INTP forum does not mean they have to vote for their own personality. After all, Presidents are not Architects.

Also, what kind of sucker INTP would accept a presidency? It'd be someone like Imperator. Ewww.

Yeah, we could let other types be symbolic figureheads, but we're superior at being symbolic figureheads in addition to being superior at running secret shadowy organizations, because we're superior all around.

I think he'd be better than our current president.

An ENTJ would have the ability to put their plans into motion with less of the social awkwardness of an INTJ.

33.33% INTP? I see INTPs are not above a little irrationality. The role of advisor fits better.

In the book, "The Presidential Difference" by Fred Greenstein, he explores the qualities of effective and ineffective U.S. presidents.
He focused on the twelve modern presidents from FDR to George W. Bush, and used six criterias:
Public Communication
Organizational Capacity
Political Skill
Vision
Cognitive Style
Emotional Intelligence
Of all six personal qualities, Greenstein warns, one above all others, is most important. "Beware the presidential contender who lacks emotional intelligence. In its absence all else may turn to ashes."
So, for the most part, given the challenges that many INTPs face related to emotions / feelings, they might be out of contention. I would agree though that INTPs might serve a better presidential advisor instead. :reading:

A well balanced ENTJ or a well balanced ENFJ.

A president is a figure head. The president projects the image, and serves as a face for decisions that are made.
The president doesn't have to be book smart. The president does NOT need to have a Ph.D. from Harvard.
The president needs charm, the ablility to select the right people to be advisers, the ability to create and nurture meaningful relationships with other VIPs, and the ability to move a nation into whatever action has been decided upon.
INTPs as president would be really annoying, I'm not going to lie. As arrogant as I am, I always try to know my limits, and when I'm not up to par. This is one area I simply would not touch UNTIL I significantly improve that EQ score. And it doesn't matter if its being president of the USA, or of the student senate.
Don't INTP's fold under pressure? When shit hits the fan, don't they implode and fall back into their heads? Don't they lock up and panic when they begin to fail and don't know what to do? Aren't they no longer open to suggestions (from their advisers, or people who know better)?
I think an ESFJ would be a good choice. A socially-developed (that is, asshole qualities minimized) ENTJ would also be very succesful, though we'd probably end up in another war from him/her rubbing some other leader the wrong way. I might be able to see a typical ESFP handling a presidency well, but it would be pure bullshit and smiles as the country goes down the drain. ENFJ's, while awesome, are too idealistic; the president doesn't need to have vision, s/he just needs to be able to move people in the direction those wiser think best.

ESTJ would probably make good presidents generally. They're skilled in stabilizing the inalienable rights our country traditionally defends. I would guess that they can provide a safe country to live in. They represent the common man which is an important thing.
An ENTJ would not make a good president. Maybe if the country was in deep shit, then the ENTJ would be an excellent candidate. The politics of the government is limiting to the actual abilities of the ENTJ. Plus the votes would stifle the ENTJs future project since most of the media(fourth branch of government) center their attention on current needs. ENTJs would probably find it more worthwhile to campaign as a president of a company than a country.
