Two tests I've posted on MBTIc, would like to see member reactions here:

1. Lumosity - iq_tests:index (http://www.lumosity.com/iq_tests?cookies_enabled=1)

This is a test that purports to measures cognition/intelligence on 3 counts a) attentiveness, b) memory, and c) processing speed. If anyone can share views of how accurate you think it is in measuring what it claims to, I'd be interested. Otherwise, it is a fun test.

2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sleep/sheep/reaction_version5.swf

Murdering sheep. Turn up the volume and test your reaction time.

Post your scores!

fyi. Top scores on MBTIc:

Sheep murderess record: 0.1144 - Rocketing Rabbit

Lumosity: Total score: 160 (tied between two members)

Edit: In event of disputed claims on scores, you may want to save screengrabs.

attentiveness
..k...
memory
I hope this involves something purple.
Oh, and after looking at the link, I see that 'memory' is purple! Now that's something...

processing speed?? yuck
I'll take this later.
Right now I'd probably score "stupid".
murdering sheep... I was thinking about dreams so the first thing that popped into my head was counting sheep. But this said murdering sheep... So then I thought 'murder the sheep after I count each one'. But I don't believe that would help me get to sleep faster. Or maybe..nevermind...

This is now added to my mental list of junk to do when I should be doing my research papers, etc. :)

Just 111 on the Lumosity. 79 on attention (:dont:), 118 on memory, and 137 on processing speed.

.2016 second average for the sheeps.

.1754 on the second try.

Edit: Hey, postcount = 1,984.

Sheep murdering - best average was 0.1898 Rocketing Rabbit. But best one-off was 0.126 seconds.

Lumosity total 102

Attention (birdwatching) 83

Memory (monsters) 73

Processing speed 152

The arithemtic was the easiest by far but hard to do without the numeric touchpad - my laptop keyboard is quite basic. The birdwatching, ugh, requires too much Se and I'm not at all surprised at how badly I did on that one. The memory one though, I would have thought I'd be better at it. But then again, I'm off work this week because I'm dizzy and can't think clearly.

Edit: Just tried the lumosity test again, definitely easier the second time, although the arithmetic one gets boring very quickly.

Lumosity total 112

Attention (birdwatching) 83

Memory (monsters) 113

Processing speed 142

The birdwatching one is weird though. I did much better the second time round, but got the same score. Odd.

That was actually how I found the test. When I had to be doing something else.

And you're not murdering the sheep for real, you're merely tranquilising them. Evidence: They emit little zzzs once you hit them, vs "baaa...ahhh."

bluebell, how some folks get faster timing on the sheep is they pre-empt it. So they get zero seconds for one of the sheep at least, bringing down the total timing. But no one has managed to get cheetah speed yet. Try the lumosity again when you're better, if you want.

Anon... nice... postcount. *faints*

That would have been awesome if you'd scored 101 instead of 111.

Heh. 120 on Luminosity. Memory was only hard when the tiles increased in number and the random monsters didn't form a coherent pattern.
104- Bird Watching (*growls* I've never heard of those bird names)
134- Memory
124- Processsing

managed a .152 on the sheep, tho' my average was .240 >_<

...which is great when I haven't slept tonight.

Of birds, monsters, and murdered sheep

Total score : 116

Attention 104 (nice test, i like birds and photography)
Memory 108 (cheated a little , used my fingers on the screen to memorize locations of monsters)
Processing speed 137 ( started so easy , but then brain started kicking)

Sheep murdering - one-off was 0.121 seconds, but I was pretty slow on the rest averag 3.0 seconds but could be due to mouse...and age :)

0.1882 overall on the sheep...

128 overall for Lumosity:
Attention: 106 (would have been so much better if it was half-dressed movie stars, I probably would have been more attentive, and actually known their names! :p)
Memory: 140
Processing: 138

I tried it again after this and caned the processing but some bastard walked in on me at work when I was doing the bird watching and it screwed me over! Doh!

That sheep one is fun... another game you may enjoy:

Sweet, I am an Ambling Armadillo, with an average time of 0.3148 seconds. That's not very fast, is it?

It's okay, I make up for it in other ways. ;)

I got a score of 151, I was let down by the memory section.

The one who got 160 on MBTIc memorised the monster walk patterns via visualising the safe spaces as tetris shapes.

For processing, it helps to have the number pad, and to know the placement of the keypad (so you can calculate without looking to type).

For the birdwatching, the closer you hit dead centre of the bird, the higher your score.

151! Wow... thats pretty good! :p

..Oh you can use a numpad on the calculations - doh! I probably should have thought of that, oh well that's a 0 for common sense.
And the bird one... well, I'm willing to accept I have poor attention, and my knowledge of birds is pretty grim :happpy:

For some of the memory ones I used coordinates and remembered the string of numbers, but obviously if you don't get the numbers right in the first instance that kinda fails.

My Luminosity score was 128, like Linkage.

Attention - 119
Memory - 115 (I always knew my memory wasn't very good. >_>)
Processing Speed - 150 (I was surpised, I thought I would not do very good on this section when I first started.)

Seems like the arithmetic saved my score.

EDIT - On the second one, I keep getting Bobbing Bobcat.

Tried it again. This time, I got an overall with 114, but more even scores. 101 on attention, 105 on memory, and 138 for processing.

Bah ... processing speed killed me.

Birdwatching (attention) : 158
Monsters (memory) : 166
Raindrops (processing speed): 109 (ugh)

Total : 143

As to the sheep:

0.1518 Rocketing Rabbit.

Woo. I'm quick but slow.

Lumosity:
Attention: 128
Memory: 126
Processing Speed: 149

I would have scored better on the processing, but not having a number pad slowed me down a bit.

Reaction:
0.1792

I never was very good with reaction tests.

Bah. I only got 127. However, I'm on a touchpad for a mouse and no 10-keypad. I will have to try again on a normal desktop. I think the touchpad and lack of keypad slowed me down considerably.

Reaction: .2364, erm, I tried twice, I don't think it will get any better.

Attention: 134
Memory: 96 (uhhh I got 11 on my first try. LOL)
Processing Speed: 115
