Sometimes when pushed into a cattle herd of Americans I like to behave in a fun manner. It is quite interesting to see people's reactions. Does anyone else enjoy behaving crazily or irrationally in stupid public situations? For example, standing in line for a long time for something that is required of you, Grocery shopping, doctor's offices, anything really.

Singing, dancing, skipping, acting like an idiot, acting paranoid, acting anything. Oh yes, and you cannot forget being loud. Does anyone else induldge in this? Most people don't seem to be too turned off by it, just more, confused or amused.

I have done this. It is a defense mechanism. People embrace the insane.

Usually I try NOT to stand out. I seem to attract weirdos on the city streets who just come up to me and start talking enough as it is already. But sometimes I'll be by myself in a crowd thinking about something else entirely and giggle. Actually I do that a lot. Sometimes after it happens I'll notice people staring at me.

I only seem to do it when I'm in a situation I don't want to be in. I don't think having fun is necessarily being yourself.

Sometimes I am like that.

I have Jezebel's issue with thinking something funny and giggling. It must be goofy-creepy for someone to spontaneously giggle for no apparent reason.

I do that, oh yes, I do that and I *enjoy* it.

I do it more when I am around my brother, it's like we will laugh outloud about anything and we don't care who is listening, people usually look at us odd, and that just makes us laugh more. It's great.

Sometimes, and it can be either because I'm strong and self-confident or because something crashed and I can't get back into my mind and am taking out my aggression externally. (Some of my posts clearly show this division.) In either case, I reason people only enjoy watching stuff out of the ordinary. I can do whatever I want and people will just think better of me for my audacity. Typically I'm in the middle somewhere which roughly equates to "reserved".

People love to be entertained ... but I don't think I feel very good about that.

I avoid such situations like the plague, and when it is absolutely neccessary, I get it over with as quickly as possible.

I hate the human race as a whole, a person is nice, the general population is stupid.

I don't like places like the mall, sports arenas, movie theatres, commercial busses or airplanes, trains aren't so bad, Wallmart I can deal with. I prefer my fast food through the drive thru rather than eating in the restaurant. Traffic is even worse, at least at a store you only have to deal with thier idiotic behavior, in trafic, you also have to deal with the way these idiots control a two ton machine at 50, 60, or 70 miles per hour. And now some of these jackasses are putting DVD players and screens so the DRIVER can watch while he is driving.

Sometimes it makes me want to move to a little shack in the middle of the woods somewhere and start mailing random people bombs or something.

But yes, I do sometimes do crazy things in public settings, how do you think I got my name?

No... I suppose I can understand the plausibility of appeal in this sort of behaviour, but I don't understand the appeal itself. It seems forced and insincere. I'll be a goof, but I have to feel like being goofy first.

Edit: Ack! Necro-itis! Unclean!

I prefer it when people ignore me, because I want to ignore them too.

I stay away from crowds these days, but when I was younger, I did some silly stuff with friends, just for the novelty of getting attention.

Driving past a line of people who were on the sidewalk waiting to get into a club one evening, I shouted over the din, "Hey, you with the nose!"

You might be surprised by the number of people who will identify themselves as having a nose or some other commonplace attribute. "Who, me? I have nose. You talkin' to me?"

Sometimes when I'm at traffic lights, I'll pretend to marvel at the button thingies, pressing them over and over again in a cutesy, childlike fashion. People have to hold back the smirks when pushing me out onto moving traffic.
