Ok, since there's a post on this, and I've researched it a little bit to some degree, I'm going to share what I've learned. MBTi gives you a four letter personality type. Astrology can be translated to MB. Why? Because Carl Jung was a firm believer of archetypes, and believe it or not, the astrology system, numerology system, and myers briggs typing system are all based on the same concept: The belief that archetypes are real, and we all have ways about us that we're just born into or shaped into.
So, here goes. If you know your birthdate, your birth time, and birth location, then you can do this accurately. If you don't know your correct birth time, then I wouldn't suggest this, because some of your signs will change if you are even 30 minutes off on your birth time.
Here's a site to convert your natal chart or natal reading into MB type standards:

It's very interesting, also, you can get a free natal report here:
http://www.alabe.com/freechart/
Scroll down below the natal chart and you will find the information you need to translate your results. I'll post mine in the next post. It's just for fun.

Ok, here's an example of my results and translation:
Sun is in 26 Degrees Gemini.
Moon is in 04 Degrees Scorpio.
Mercury is in 20 Degrees Cancer.
Venus is in 03 Degrees Leo.
Mars is in 22 Degrees Capricorn.
Jupiter is in 21 Degrees Pisces.
Saturn is in 04 Degrees Sagittarius.
Uranus is in 20 Degrees Sagittarius.
Neptune is in 04 Degrees Capricorn.
Pluto is in 04 Degrees Scorpio.
2 Air Gemini
2 Water Scorpio
1 Water Cancer
1 Fire Leo
1 Earth Capricorn
1 Water Pisces
1 Fire Sagittarius
1 Fire Sagittarius
1 Earth Capricorn
1 Water Scorpio
Add 'em up
5 Feeling (Water)
3 Intuitive (Fire)
2 Sensing (Earth)
2 Thinking (Air)
NF
Although, i find this somewhat objectionable as to How F it placed me.
I'm usually having a tug of war between Thinking and Feeling that Thinking wins out on. Again, it's just for fun.
Feeling (Water) 1
Intuitive (Fire) 2
Sensing (Earth) 4
Thinking (Air) 4
ST? I think not. Is it saying I'm an S?
I get 100% or close on N in every test I take.

I remember having my horoscope professionally done many years back (out of interest) and (off the top of my head) the breakdown was a bit like this:
Fire: 3
Air: 5
Earth: 3
Water: 1
I'm not sure whether you include ascendant in this which is supposed to show your outer personality - mine's Virgo.
So I guess mine would tally up with MB type (but I personally think it's all a bit bogus anyway).

Too much work, not interested enough.
I always liked the Chinese zodiac better, anyhoo.

Wouldn't the ascendant sign be ones persona?
Personally I think this is "bogus" as well.

Hmm...
Fire 6 (N)
Earth 0 (S)
Air 4 (T)
Water 2 (F)
Hmm.. close but no tomato. And this Natal chart contradicts itself. Apparently I'm both shy and outgoing. Etc etc, I'm going on with life

Bogus, yep. Fun, yep.
I did this quickly, so I might have tallied it up wrong, but here's what I have:
Fire (N) - 7!!
Earth (S) - 2
Air (T) - 2
Water (F) - 1
Lawdy lawdy. Got my dominant trait right, but left no real room for any other traits.

The formula is too simple. I would not give 1 point for the outer planets. Also, strong aspects should get points.
Fire - 6
Earth - 4
Air - 0
Water - 1

Yeah, I don't exactly agree with the tally system myself. I think the majority of the points should be attributed to the Rising Sun and Sun signs, and then the Moon sign. The rest of it would just be kind of 'supportive' of it, or other various traits.

Wouldn't fire be thinking, water would be feeling, earth would be sensing and air would be intuition?
Fire - 4
Water - 4
Earth - 4
Air - 0
Either way, there is no correlation for me.
If you gave 2 points each for the rising sign and n. node, I'd be 4/4/4/4 :D

nope, air is definitely thinking. Not just thinking, but a higher level thinking, IMO. To be able to understanded relationships between things and theorize at a high level.

Isn't that intuition?
That being asked, I got
Air: 5 Water: 4 Fire: 2 Earth: 1
So I guess I'm a TF. The information in it fit me at parts and didn't at others, but that seems to be the case with astrology.

Not seeing a connection with this particular "math", particularly with regard to the S/F. But I do like to consider astrological aspects that correlate to the variations of personality within MBTI types. For instance, an INTP with an astrological chart full of air signs might be much different that one with many fire signs. My boyfriend and a male friend are both INTPs, and although I definitely see the INTP preferences in both of them, they have very little in common otherwise.

I think the rising should have two points.

Funny that the "uninvited guest" in my chart is the fire element, which according to this would correspond to a weak N (not true). And that I'm about as F as they come (true).

Actually, Mariel, if your moon is in Sagittarius, then that's two points for fire, and two less for water. Sag. is a fire sign.

you are right. i misread my own scrawl as "scorp". it adds up slightly better as a result.

Well I voted "Yes, it's very accurate " but I really know very, very, little about this stuff. The Earth, fire ,etc, etc I am clueless. I do know, thanks to co-workers, I am a Libra, and much to my annoyance the "libra" profile fits me perfect, well guess what? I still think it is just a fluke and this is a bunch of hog wash, that said I am also curious and will play with the concept anyway. But hell I am curious and well play with about anything, so that doesn't mean much either.
And all this time I thought there was no S in me. <.<
Anyway, in my opinion, a more accurate approach would be too look at the sign that, in your chart, is under the planet Mars. Apparently, Mars deals with one's path of energy. The interesting thing is that the energy sources are grouped into four categories - of practical energy, mental energy, emotional, and physical energy. (Represented by variations of earth, air, water, and fire signs.)
You could probably guess the appropriate MB tendancies - probably S, N or T, F, and... S?, respectively. (xD; I would disagree with physical energy being an N trait, despite being displayed by fire signs.) For instance, people with, like me, the Mars sign Gemini - a variation of an air sign, are supposed to think a lot (even "lacking emotionally,") be whimsical in carrying out their goals, and may need to "balance out the physical with (all that) mental," which coincides well with both my N and T (and even P, heheh.) You could potentially fish out more than one IMTI tendency, in a description of what it means to have a certain sign under the planet Mars. Or, you know, it could be total bs. Astrology's like that.
Erm. http://www.astrology-numerology.com/insigns-mars.html, if you think that will be useful.
Haha, the results of the poll basically say nothing.

OK, here's the thing - my husband was fairly interested in astrology when I met him. I continue to believe that it is bunk, particularly about me. I have found but ONE personality indicator (MBTI) that describes me accurately and believe me, I have looked at many of them.
I do though, based on my husband's curiosity, know my sun/moon/and whatever the third one is signs. What I find interesting is that they are all considered FIRE signs and I am particularly not considered a FIRE personality. I don't anger easy as a matter of fact I don't show any emotion easily (see MBTI description of an INTP's exhibition of emotion).
Okie dokie. Those things said, I am Sun: Aries; Moon: Leo; Third sign: Sagittarius.
I am without a doubt INTP.
Any conclusions?
