This was a topic from the old forum. I apologize if it has been started again somewhere on this forum.
I watched an episode of WB's Angel last night and can't get it out my head today. I have been humming the violin tune all morning.

At the moment, whatever the song, it's always from Mega Man 1 and 2, due to playing the recently released anniversary collection. They're CATCHY.

Everytime someone asks me that question whatever song was playing in my head shifts to... "Can't get you out of my head, boy your love is all I care to think about, lalala la la la la la lalala la la la la la.." Noooo I had good music playing too before I saw this topic.

I do not have any trouble with music getting stuck in my head. I am able to cut it short at any point for any duration. I used to exercise this and I can do it effortlessly now.
What does happen is that I am going around doing my daily stuff and a piece of a song spontaneously pops into my head, usually an Eminem lyric. I swear that guy is a genius.

Right now I have "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel in my head. Don't ask, I have no clue why it is stuck in my head.

That's what you get for not listening to various types of music!

After I read this thread I got the same song on mental repeat, except the 'Me First and the Gimme Gimme's' version.
I then drifted into "Piano Man" - one of the greatest song's ever.

No, you see, that's the scary part. I don't even like the Nutcracker Suite, nor does anyonw in my house (or even anyone I know, for that matter) have a copy of it.

As I am typing this I have Rammstein's Feuer Frei in my head. That's not half as bad as the other stuff that gets in my head.

I"ve had The New Year by Death Cab For Cutie stuck in my head for about a month. It probably has something to do with school starting, or the fact that I've listened to it way too much, but nevertheless, it is there.

Then I reckon it may get a trifle irritating after a while...
Try immersing yourself in another tune, playing it semi-continously: one nail drives out another as the French say now and again.

I had one of those jolting realizations that woke me at 4 a.m. I could not get back to sleep and continue to hear Genesis' Taking It All Too Hard. The funny thing is I am focusing the song toward myself:
No not this confused again
No not the same mistakes again.
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard
Why can't you see what's going on?
I know you'd never admit
You would ever be to blame
Everything's a game to you
The old days are gone
And they're better left alone
I cannot help you, it's much too late
Oh no not this confused again
Oh no not the same mistakes again.
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard
Now that it's dark, all of your fears,
Like shadows creeping around.
You're much too scared to look down
And it's lonely out on your own
The old days are gone
And they're better left alone
But I still miss you
I keep it to myself
Oh no not this confused again
Oh no not the same mistakes again
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard

"I'm the Reluctant Dragon" by... er, I don't know. But for some reason it's stuck in my head.
It's from this old cartoon I used to watch all of the time (it was some kid and a dragon and apparently he was rather reluctant, it was paired with another cartoon about some ants trying to get a berry and an old ant telling them a story about other ants and a moose).

I agree!
I was just at a baseball game last week and they played that insipid song. I was hoping it would've gone away but every sporting event I go to seems like has to blare it out. I'd rather they'd be so unoriginal as to play "We Will Rock U" twice or even suffer through Britney's "Toxic" before ever hearing All-Star again.
btw, Avril's "Happy Ending" won't seem to leave my head, but at least it's on silently where as I can get some work done.
Fleetwood Mac- Peacekeeper.... it seems to be stuck in my head... trying to make me buy the album ;)
