Who is your current favourite actor/actress and why? What movie/roles did you like them in?

Also, if you could pick which actor or actress to spend a weekend on a deserted island with, who would it be and why?

NB - Keep this clean, this is not the "Mature Audience" Section.

My picks:

Favourite actor: Ralph Fiennes
Favourite actress: Juliette Binoche

Deserted island: Colin Firth

Actress - Kirsten Dunst. I am infatuated with her. Temporarily I expect.
Actor - Giovanni Ribisi. I find him very watchable.

Desert Island: Dunst

Actor - Vincent D'Onofrio (plays a great INTP on L&O:CI)
Actress - too tough...either Mimi Rogers, Helen Hunt, Laura San Giacomo, or Bebe Neuwirth

Tropical Island (desert blech) - One of the ladies above

male - Johnny Depp - current
Robert Mitchum - all time fave

female - So MANY to choose from - I'm sure I'll be leaving some out.

Current - Toss-up between Chloe Sevigny, Scarlet Johanson, and Julie Bowen. Earlier generations - Kathleen Turner, Elke Somner, Hedy LaMarr, Kim Bassinger ( whom I met ) and the queen of them all in her youth - Catherine Deneuve. See her in her 20's in Roman Polanski's "Repulsion", a classic movie about a descent into insanity only outdone by the obscure Altmann movie "Images"; or see her in her 30's in "Hustle." In her older years, she's done things like playing a female vampire.

Well, even though I think these actors are sexy, I wouldn't chose them as partners because I prefer more sensitive bookish types. However, I can't help but see the anima go wild in some of these:

Jack Nicholson
(Not that handsome, but extremely confident with women, and you can see what Jung describes as ANIMA in his expressions, and this is very attractive to me, not practical though).

Paul Newman
Not only is he a great cook, but he has amazing blue eyes that draw me in.

Robert Redford, intelligent and handsome, talented and politically correct.

Robert Deniro
He is not that great of an actor even, but is is so over confident, that it is attractive somehow. I don't know what it is, but I can't take my eyes off him in movies.

Charles Bronson
Why is he attractive, I don't know, its not his facial features, its his "toughness" and resiliency, probably all hollywood, but I note him anyway.

Bob Dylan-Would love to have him play me music on some deserted island surely. Not sure about a kiss though.

Most attractive to me in men, chest muscles and tummy.

Deserted Island though? Thats hard because you'd have to like their personality enough to want to be near them that long. These guys are getting quite old, so theres not much actual appeal left.

However, a quick hug from Paul Newman would be very nice. And if he would cook for me, even better.

I'd chose Paco De Lucia if he would play spanish guitar for me.

Favorite female actresses: Audrey Hepburn, Kathryn Hepburn, Lucille Ball, Shirley Maclaine, Gwinneth Paltrow, Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Goldie Hawn.

Edward Norton, Johnny Depp, Matt Damon... all good and good-lookin'.

Ladies are harder. LOTS of sexy ones, but I'm having trouble deciding who the truly talented are.

Susan Sarandon, Katharine Hepburn (you didn't say current), umm, that's all I can think of for now.

Desert Island: Johnny Depp and Audrey Tautou. Rawr!

All supposing them at the same age. ( 20 ).

I'm not saying I'd want to see all their films though. I never saw that many with them anyway. ( Extra marks are given for blondeness ). I stopped watching films ( except comedies ) five years ago...

There's a lack of contemporary actresses there, 'cos either they have bobbed hair and fat lips and act like little heroic men, but Sienna Miller is a brilliant rising young talent from GB.

Oh yes Emmanuelle Beart is wonderful - saw her in "Nathalie" and "8 Femmes".

She is so beautiful and reminds me a little of Audrey Hepburn.

By attractiveness, I think Jennifer Garner is the new topper. I just watched 13 Going on 30, and seeing her play a non-superheroine was unusually pleasant. "Look at that mama, she got it stickin in the camera, Man...We could have some fun." Given permission, of course. :)

Hugh Jackman; Sophia Loren (at the height of her career).

edit: I'm going for sexy here (that's what sells tickets), good combinations of brain and heat. These two are in the top 25% for talent as well.

Kate Beckinsale is one of the only actresess that I have an unexplainable attraction too......Sarah Michelle Geller and Keira Knightly as well for some reason.??....

I don't really have a favorite actor or actress purely on talent...even the good ones have been in there share of stinkers.

Not inexplicable Lee - I looked at her photo after you posted her name, and she has perfectly small and symmetrical features. This denotes that she may well be a good breeder!

Geoff - can we turn Jimmy Page into an actor and start talking about him? He turns water into wine, you know.

I said inexplicable because I don't necassarily feel anything for somebody that looks similar, I don't know her or anything and yet she flicks a switch in my brain and it's not just a sex thing...eh it's annoying, luckily she is not a very good actress so I can avoid the weirdness that I feel.

My sub-conscious intentions have nothing to do with my feelings on the matter :p

Why do you say "it's not just a sex" thing. Of *course* it's a sex thing. What's to be ashamed of? 20 million other men probably feel exactly the same way.

Ok technically it is just a sex thing, but I act more like a women on these subjects, I become all INFP when talking about this stuff....it's very annoying.
