Johnny Depp Smoking Outburst

DEPP REFUSES TO EXTINGUISH CIGARETTE
Hollywood superstar JOHNNY DEPP shocked an American woman in a London restaurant recently, when he refused to put out his cigarette.
The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN actor was dining at Scalini's in the British capital when the unidentified lady took offence to his smoking and asked him to extinguish the offending item, even though he was sitting in a smoking area.
Depp bluntly told her, "I'm sorry, but we're not in LA any more."

Quite right.
Although not a fan. [ Wrong sex. But he was good as Ed Wood. A noble tragic life devoted to Angora sweaters. ]

What was she doing in a smoking area if she had a problem with it?
Maybe she wanted to steal the cig as a souvenier.

Doesn't make him a bad one, either.

He's overrated - he's just a pretty boy.
And it's farcical to suggest that you can separate restaurant airspace into "smoking" and "non-smoking" in a way that protects non-smokers from both the foul odour and the risk of passive smoking.

Stick the smokers on the roof.
Agree, though... deeply hoping that he doesn't ruin the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

perhaps someone could install turbines that suck the nicotine laden air out a wall without offending non smokers

Perhaps this woman knew he was Johhny Depp and she wanted an excuse to talk to him. Good on him for putting her in her place.

I think someone tried that... like a fume hood over every table... but who wants to eat under a plastic tent?

I thought he was excellent in The Secret Window. But I really didn't like him in PotC . . . that whole movie was just bad.

I'm usually the first to despise a good-looking bad-talent, but I honestly think Johnny Depp is a good actor.
I don't see Johnny Depp as being a "Bad actor". I always thought he played a wide variety of roles (Fear and Loathing, Ed Wood, Pirates etc), much better (as an "actor") then those actors that seem to play the same person in every movie (George Clooney, Kevin Costner, Gilbert Gottfried).

Do you honestly want Gilbert Gottfried to expand is repertoire?

i quite like jonny depp, i dont understand the fuss that girls make over him though. i dont personally make a fuss over any celebrity unless they earnt their fame, like einstein, chomsky, and the rest. female hotties on screen are just female hotties, there are many of them everywhere.

I liked Depp in "The Ninth Gate". Perhaps he was "playing himself" as the saying goes. Maybe not. It's fun to imagine he and Polanski riffing off each other and saying "What if we tried doing that scene like SO and so" . . . . .off in Europe somewhere. If only . . . . . .

Johnny Depp is one of the few popular actors who is actually able to act.
Gilbert Gottfried was great in "Problem Child", however.

Women and men aren't attracted to the same things in each other. For women: personality, talent, extremely subtle, undescribable things.. can provoke a reaction that, if present in a man, would likely be based on a physical attraction. This is evidenced by the fact that women dont get 1/10 of the obsession over porn/porno fixtures *cough* or models that men do.
I'm just happy any time a smoker is able to tell someone to fuck off.
