I learned the chanter, but had to stop just as I moved onto the pipes because I got pregnant. Never got back to it. Still have the pipes here, though.

Good God, when I was in the dorms in college, there was some maniac who practiced their bagpipes right outside our window. Those suckers are loud and awful.

Not a piper but I do like them...in moderation. I am a madrigal singer in a group that does Renfests, holiday events and so forth so I'm not above enjoying some pipes on occasion.

Me too. It makes me think of this one time I was in Key West and there was a bagpiper that none of the tourists liked. People would basically pay him to go play his bagpipe somewhere else. He got no love whatsoever. He was the loneliest bagpiper ever.
