anchor and balloon, representing Sensing and iNtuition, i also believe Edgar Allan Poe wrote a tale about it. the idea originated in a mood about me being upset about the constant daydreaming. digital: panter 9, a few hours.

Wow, that's cool. Thanks for sharing. How did you 'do it'... using a mouse? Or do you have one of those pen things for the computer.

This is brilliant, one of those images that convey deep meaning.
Truly an example of 'picture worth 1000 words'.

Would you recommend one? I do a lot of work in photoshop (tidying up my photos etc) and suspect it would make it a lot of easier (highlighting parts of images that need cleaning and so on).

What do you think? Do you find it is as useable as a paper sketchpad? Do you find it gives the necessary precision for something like pixel accurate photoshop work?

Which one would you buy if you were me?

i would reccomend one.
especially if you work in photoshop alot.
(retouche has several methods, but that aside)

the advantage of a pen is the control you have over your strokes. + it has absolute positioning. wich speeds up most tasks. there is however some time needed to get used to the pen and tablet. the tablet surface is smooth while paper is grainy, pencil on paper has more resistance than a pen on a plastic tablet.

accuracy is solved by zooming. the tablets themselves have 1000 - 2000 lpi resoluton, depending on the type you pick.

theres several qualitiative diffferences, wacom is by far the best brand. and most expensive. i own an wacom intuos 2. it has the most features and highest density. intuos has pen tilt angle detection.
then comes the graphire, these are usually half the intuos price. graphires have half the pressure levels (512, intuos 1024) and no pen-tilt detection.

im fond of the tilt angle detection, painter makes good use of that feature.
photoshop (7 and cs) also allow for tilt mapping to brush features. but its hardly usable. id recommend a graphire2 or 3 (not sure if you can buy new graphire 2's). maybe ebay has some.
