There is a possibility I'll be in Melbourne in early September.
Perhaps I should reschedule ?

See if anyone else replies (although it doesn't look like you're being indundated with responses yet). It's not definite I'll be there in September, but it's possible I'll have to go to a meeting around then.
Ha! If i'm lucky my world famous meetups attract 2 people. having said that, give me a date when you might be here and i'll schedule it for then, then if you are, awesome!
Meet has been moved to the 23rd due to circumstances.
Place will be same as last year because I'm feeling traditional today ;)

Can't you have the meet up somewhere closer... like the otherside of the world, possibly?

Or the Brits could fly here.
If I happen to be in Melbourne, it's likely to be in the first week of September, but I may only be there for the day - my plans are still somewhat up in the air.
I'm curious - who else turned up last time?

I hear there is a good one happening in vega soon if you are interested.
Send me a pm when you're in town bluebell and we can go out for a few drinks if you want.

Melbourne looks like a nice city. But I have to wonder, how the hell did they get such complete pictures of every street? And they have the same thing for a bunch of other cities, too.

Google has a van with a camera on top that drives around and records all of it. They have the same for some cities in the US too, I think mostly in CA.

Edit: Or in this case a car :p

LOL. I was expecting some kind of really high tech surveillance technology doing all this, and it turns out to just be a van with a huge camera mounted on top. And I'm incredibly jealous of the guys who do that as their job.

I see the Googlemobiles driving around the streets of Berkeley sometimes, updating their image library.
Oh, and I too wish I had a teleporter. :(

2ds, turns out I'll only be in Melbourne for the day in September so catching up for a beer isn't going to work out this time.

assuming they make up 1% of the population and melbourne has at least 3million people there should eb enough for a meet.
