Well I know some "activists", environmentally speaking. I have an environmental degree, so I've studiest the facts, the math, and I would say I have ageneral grasp of the fundamentals to any scientific proposition.

Activists are slightly obsessive about their goals and means to get there. The problem is that their biast view lead them to overlook things, or brush them off.

Lately there has been talk of two things:

-Cars powered by water
-Cars running on vegtible oil

Now, as it happens, one friend is involved with the water, the other with the veggie oil.
As it also happens, burning either of these substances for fuel produces ozone as a by product coming out the tail pipe, as both friends explained very well, (ie. read it from a text or what not)

My big rant is that both of them had the conclusion that the extra ozone coming out the tail pipe makes things even for this world on top of not using crude oil because we could use that created ozone to patch up that ozone hole!

Riiight, except for the fact that ozone in the lower atmosphere is one of the major sources of smog and is regarded as pollution. Both times I mentioned it humbly, and both recieved the information not too humbly back, with both friends brushing off my comment and agrued their point from some other angle.

The point of the matter is that both friends, albeit they are intelligent, did not spend 4 years doing an engineering degree, and both have a biased view towards their goal and it is stopping them from knowing the bigger picture in a objective way. I did not push the matter, as I simply open the door, if they don't want to hear it, then Im not forcing anyone to do anything, even though they now will continue existance without full comprehension...

2 Morals of the story: ozone is a pollutant, and, listen when you dont know, or thought you did, but are hearing otherwise from someone who should know: listen (most intps would)

I thought ozone was created not directly in combustion, but by photochemical reaction of the nitrous oxides from combustion with free O2 in the atmosphere.

But yeah, tropospheric ozone in high concentrations or over long exposures is bad for your lungs.

As for your friends, they will be soldiers for ENFJs, who will consult INTPs like you. ;P

From what I've noticed about my vegan/animal rights friends:
Step 1) Find a cause that makes you feel good about yourself.
Step 2) Avoid most logical discussion of the matter
Step 3) ...
Step 4) Spiritually Profit!

Not only should you find a cause that makes you feel good about yourself, it must also allow you to be contrary to everyone else, and preferably you should also be able to engage in illegal activities to further your case.
This is just the general recipe for a rewarding SP life.*
