Whenever someone posts a picture using the imageloader, I get the "sorry no hotlinking" image. I don't know anything about how this function works, so I can't fix it myself. :(

mmmm
I will look into this..
what browser are you using?
have you tried clearing your cache when it happens? or pressing ctrl+f5?
are you viewing the site via http://www.intpcentral.com/forum/ ?
I am not sure how to reproduce the problem which makes it slightly difficult but I will try to solve this within the coming days.
I do know if you try to view an image by going directly to the image location(opening in a NEW browser window and going to it), ie:
http://www.intpcentral.com/uploads/holdingon3.jpg
then press ctrl+f5, it will display the error message.

You might try turning on "Norton's Security Suite" :)

so you do it when they're not looking? Norton helps protect computer illiterate people.

Norton helps computer technicians by fouling up computer illiterate people's systems so they have to seek professional help. B)

no i only do it to family member's computers. If their computer gets messed up, why not give it to me? I will fix it, as well as take some parts out and replace them with something lesser ^_^.
Not that I have ever done this, but it sounds like a good proposition.

Is that part of your social darwanism? Anyone who isn't smart enough not to trust you will get scammed?

Please, I was talking about family. Yes I believe in scamming, I think it is a form of art. I am against cheating though.

What exactly is the difference between cheating and scamming? Maybe I'm missing something...

Cheating is an independent form of illegal activity, scamming preys on other people.

Elaborate a little. That is too subtle for an English mind...

cheating skews results though.. if you cheated on a test, things would be skewed in your favor so it's not just an independent form of illegal activity since it still impacts a 'curve' ..

I agree. I ment the human interaction part however. If you cheat you only did it with your own power or if someone else helped you, you used the power of two evils. If you scam someone then you are praying on them specifically, they can choose to be fooled, or they can choose not to be. The difference is the human choice. Cheating isn't stoppable if done correctly. But no scam will always work so it takes effort and skill, and i think it is a little more classy.

I don't think it is the person's choice whether they are fooled since a scam can seem legitimate. They are not choosing between being a fool or not being a fool. Cheating is more manipulating the system where scamming is manipulating the individual.

And more often than not, a scam preys not on their stupidity but their will to help a fellow human, no strings attached.

You can be a scamming crusador of sorts. Only praying on those that are evil and using other's evil desires to reach some means.

file cabinet-
My ISP is some oregon company that I can't remember the name of.
I'm using IE6 and Netscape7, neither work- and I've cleared my cache. I'm viewing the forums through ]http://www.intpcentral.com/forums/. If I go directly to the image- ie your link, I get the no hotlinking image right off.
I uninstalled Nornton years ago when it wouldn't even let me connect to the internet. B^
If there is a firewall, it would be out of my control, installed on the server.
If there isn't a fix, I'll have to trek down to the library to see the rest of the pics in the 'what do we look like' thread.
