Have you seen him lately? He's kind of balding and a little on the chubby side. If you saw the movie Dickie Roberts, Child Actor (I think that was the name) with David Spade....there were a bunch of ex-child actors in that movie gleefully making fun of themselves. It was really funny. I'm pretty sure Leif made an appearance. But in his day, he was a babe!

Prince of persia
Inspector gadget
the beets (Doug)
Animorphs
MacGyver - Whats wrong with MacGyver? I still think hes cool. Now he's General O'neil. :) Side point I thought was hilarious: In MacGyver Richard Dean Anderson was working under a overweight bald guy (Dana Eclair) and in the begining of SG-1 he was working under an overweight bald guy (General Hammond) . Funny thing is that on looking up the cast, I found General Hammond was a stunt double for Dana Eclair on MacGyver.

Eureeka's Castle
Hardy Boys
LEGOS!

This is great.

In lieu of a picture (couldn't find one, although I didn't look too hard):

She's a small wonder, pretty and bright with soft curls.
She's a small wonder, a girl unlike unlike other girls.
She's a miracle, and I grant you
She'll enchant you at her sight.
She's a small wonder, and she'll make your heart take flight.

She's fantastic, made of plastic.
Microchips here and there.
She's a small wonder, brings love and laughter everywhere.

How spread out were those robie things? I had one, too (actually it's probably still in my basement), but I never actually remember them gaining any sort of real popularity, at least here in the U.S.

Heheh, I also have Spock doing "Bilbo".

Stewie off Family Guy, Zap Branigan off Futurama, and Beck all did that Shatner Rocketman thing. I saw it in 1978 on the SF awards and didn't realize how idiotic it was. I just wanted them to show more Star Wars clips.

Beanie and Cecil? I wanted one of those beanie caps for so long. When my parents finally bought me one, I was sooo dissapointed that I couldn't actually fly when it twirled and I put it on my head. I kept thinking, maybe if I jumped off the fence first....but what a let down to find it didn't work. (age 4 or so).

Of course Batman and Robin, my sister and I used to run around after a bath with our towels on right before batman started in the nude, and I had an intense crush on batman and she loved robin.

Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
He's our powers magnified,
And he's fighting on the planet side

Then that horrible rap
( before white people had learnt that they should not be doing this )

We're the planeteers,
You can be one too!
'Cause saving our planet is the thing to do,
Looting and polluting is not the way,
Hear what Captain Planet has to say:

Earth!
Fire!
Wind!
Water!
Heart!

GO PLANET!

The guy with the power of HEART got shafted.... everyone else had super-powers but he just burst into tears whenever he was around something sad.
It's like having the power of wuss.

that show made me want to run away to PE (although I guess it was mostly filmed in Ontario)

I remember kids that I thought were being friendly to me try to hang me by the neck with a rope from a tree. They got me up on a stool with the rope around my neck and tried to kick the stool out from under me. Looking back at it I guess they were not really going to do it, but who knows that when you're 8.

I remember being sexually abused by the 14-year-old neighbor boy when I was 10. And not knowing enough at the time to know that it was wrong. (I'm a straight male, by the way, in case you're wondering.)

I remember setting fire to the curtains in my bedroom and my mother having to put it out with a broom. Her hair caught on fire and my sister had to put her out.

I remember running away from home, changing my mind because I really had nowhere to go, and coming back several hours later. My mother never knew I was gone.

I remember having my bicycle robbed by a kid. He said he just wanted to try it out. But he never came back.

According to my mother, I drank kerosene from a can and had to have my stomach pumped out. Twice. This happened when I was 3. I don't remember it. She also says I used to stick my finger into electric sockets and burn my fingernails, repeatedly. I don't remember this either. She also claims that I got into the car, released the brake, and rode it down the hill and across traffic on a major road -- when I was 4. I don't remember this either.

MyDogHasFleas, sakes alive!!! I'm so sorry you have yicky memories, and some worse non-memories! If I had been there with the kids with the rope, I may have gone vigilante on them! If I knew you now, I'd be sure we went out and made some fresh childhood memories together. I'm always up for reinventing memories and have done so more than once in my life.

My aunt was a literature major in college, and when I was about 14 insisted I read Anne of Green Gables because she thought I was so much like the main character. (except I don't have red hair - however my aunt did, so maybe between the two of us?)

This was my favorite book growing up and I just bought a fresh copy recently so I can start scratching/sniffing again.

I remember my dad beating my ass at age 4 for ripping the wrapper on a Christmas present I was opening. Sorry ... no pictures, my mother dropped the camera to pull him off of me.

Justice was served 30 years later when I signed the "do not resuscitate" order on him.

Then you wrapped him up in Christmas wrapping with a sign that said, "Do not rip the wrapping," perhaps? Sorry...first thought in my head. Might as well be justice with a twist.
