I'll try and get there. Any location in mind?

Well London I'd presume. I really don't know any good watering holes in London so I'm willing to take suggestions.

Finally some action on this side of the pond. I've never been to the UK before so I'm in.

You'll be able to get here all right?

The eight and a half hour bus journey is rather off putting so I'll pass this time. Perhaps if a meet up occurs north of the border I'll come along.

I would attend, but I am no longer in the country.

Passport. Check!
Try to remember not to say word 'bomb' at Heathrow. Check!

So yes no problem I think.

Well, there aren't all that many Scots here on the whole I don't think. Seems you are out of luck. :p

Yeah, I don't really post here any more. I kind of got bored of people on INTPc trying too hard to be the quintessential stereotypical INTPness, and also the fact I never really felt I fitted in here.

These days I post somewhat frequently at MBTIc. The NF's at MBTIc totally love my dinosaur stories, cuddle toys, the fact I talk in 3rd person a lot, and my bright red cardigan.

As for a meet up; sort out a place and a more definite time than last time there was a meet up, and I will go. I do not really want to have to wait in some random empty pub, in a street where a car bomb was left six months before the meet up, like last time.

My suggestion, The Dove:

Is it easy to find? Do they have food aswell? Are there other activities which can be enjoyed (apart from drinking)?

Keep in mind that the population of London is about the same as for whole Sweden.

Should be easy to find, not been there myself.

Okay:

January 5th, 2009 INTPc meet up in The Dove, Hammersmith.

I shall send PMs in good time to all British members to get attendance information.

There's at least 3 scots i've seen so far. Perhaps a scot meet could be organised.

I'm pretty sure there is some ancient law against such a thing.

Damn, i wuved yur dinosaur stories, cuddwy toys, how you speak properly in the third person as we should, and gawd --the cardigan. Sob, come back, damn it! Just cause those blasted NF things over there know how to treat people like um, people. Shit. I could do that. Like on a Monday. Sometime.

I agree with you on the location. Ever noticed how the likes of us intp's never really know a good spot to go out much? Good thing I was brilliant enough to find the best extroverts to latch onto back in the day, so I always had someone to cart me along out with them. [It also helps being in a town so small the one pub is easy to remember. ]

Well, glad you said hi, Zhang. I hope you go. Ferrus would love it and so would DJM and Mancroft and the lot of those old geeky Intps. You are such a breath of fresh air. Practically a hipster around here. I also think we're boring .. but I LOVE the people. You know what I mean. I guess.

Have fun, good to see ya.

Watch it, buster. I can still knock you out. Scots Irish Germans are not to be poked at as you know full well. Well, until I get around to beating the hell out of you, here's a big kiss. SMACK I love you.

I'm glad you all [yes, damn it I just said "you all" ] are trying to meet up again. This time you will not get so wankered though, of course, right? Right? Oh hell, take a couple of tequila SHOTS for me. love you angel

Ferrus

Well these are old fashioned kilt-wearing, traditional (rebellious) scots not the new-fangled god-bashers that moved to Ireland (and then on again). So my point stands.

Oh I will... if anyone bothers to turn up. Sigh.

Fucking northerners.

I was actually discussing visiting London in January for a birthday jaunt with a friend of mine last night. But I'm guessing it would be later in the month since we're 22nd and 23rd birth wise.

Well, great, why don't you come down earlier and make a holiday of it? You can enjoy many tradition cockney activities such as knees-ups, costermongering, second hand car salesmanship, mudlarking, gang warfare and murdering the English language - something I daresay you have considerable experience of as a Geordie. You can also spend your time in huge crowds of Japanese people. Frankly, we are worth it.

I will be in Heathrow on the fifth of January, what's The Dove when you can watch countless people get near a nervous breakdown from sheer frustration?

Help me queue! (and watch me braid Ferrus's foot hair in person)

Go on then. I shall see if I can drum up some sufficient enthusaism this time.

We might want to include MBTI'ers so that we have a few more people to make up the numbers, mightn't we? At least enough to buy Ferrus a bunch of tequila shots.

I am so curious to meet you!!

An UK trip would cost a small fortune for me. The cars I own are cheaper. Ryanair didn't have any flights. British Airways and Scandinavian Airlines were... steep. Any ideas for a cheapskate like me?

Or should I just spend the money on a new computer (so I finally can play GTA IV)?

How good a swimmer are you?

Although... seriously, could you not travel to Calais or Ostend by land (coaches?) and cross the channel by ferry?

*adopts sexy pose dressed in speedos and a snorkel*

I checked various options including bus. The problem with ferries are that I've to get to them first. I've to clear about 1000 miles to get even near Britain.

There's awful lot to read at http://wikitravel.org/en/United_Kingdom

Yeah, so just to confirm: my ASBO prohibits me from crossing the Tyne. Which is 'ironic' because it happened in Gateshead.

(By which I mean; I'm too cheap and unmotivated to make the meet-up. Sorry.)
