Comments on INTP/INFP Link

Hi,
This is a poll to try and get your thoughts on the INTP/INFP link I have here in the Suggestion Box.

Also, here, you can post what you think about it without "the other side" being able to see directly. They'd have to come over here to see.

Because CC has this pipe dream of an N central. OR she assumed we don't know the URL of their site and are too "technically challenged" to find it.

Go ahead and create N central somewhere if you want, but I don't come here for INFPs. Nor do I go to the INFP site. That's for INFPs. There are plenty of general MBTI boards out there. Similarminds for instance. ( Not very active, but that might be because CC hasn't discovered it yet. )

First off, you've not technically linked the two forums at all: you've posted a URL. Anyone with half a clue about how the web works will be able to edit that URL and then start browsing the rest of the site. So no, this is not a secret poll that they can't see.

Secondly. I don't want to hurt any cute little NF feelings, but I also don't want this place to become dominated by feelers. I voted no.

We are only 20% of the population and I just think we would do well to unite. Plus you see the ENTPs coming here because their aren't enough Es posting. I just made one link, that people could cross communicate without looking at the rest of the site. Of course, they can. But the point is, not to. So that there is just one place to have a united INTP/INFP type of thing.

You see, INTPs create thier own kind of unique way of communicating. INFPs create thiers. But the two together can create something else entirely. And the combined Ns, can be something else. You can learn from each other.

You guys can sit here and guess what NFs are like. But then I and others can come along and say yeay or ney. And you could sit here and just wallow in ignorance about other types, assuming things when you are wrong.

Edit: So, I think an isolated INTP, INFP site is good, it has it's own flavors. But combined sites would be good also. I think both single type sites and combined type sites, would help us all understand type and each other.

Isn't this place about type? Do you not discuss type? Do you not talk about other types and what they are like vs. you? I personally think the threads, like the VI thread that gets participation from a variety of types is really where you learn the most about type. Is this just a social club, or do you want to learn about type? I want to learn about type. And you can't do it in isolation.

So, if you want me to abandon the attempt I will. I'll just let it float into never never land.

I don't have a really clear definition of what I want specifically actually. In true NP form, I just make it up as I go. See where it leads. So, I'll see where this leads.

No. If I wanted to learn about INFPs, I'd go to the INFP board. If I wanted to learn about types in general, I'd go to similarminds.com forums or somewhere. This is not a place about types, it is about a type. ( Hint: not INFP. )

The VI thread is not there so we could learn about different interaction styles of different types, it's there because some of us are interested about VI. If we learn something else in the process, fine. But that's not the purpose of it.

this is an INTP Central. Not N central.

mgbr, I was going to post some links to your posts about this ( because I agree with just about everything you've said ), but I was too lazy to find them.

And CC has read them. But she just doesn't get it / doesn't care / doesn't agree.

She does 'agree' as she has said that she wouldn't want us go to INFP board and try to turn that to NT board or anything, but seems to be ok for her to try to do the same here....

I find it kind of funny that we are the least likely to get it together in real life compared to the other N's (well for me at least) but our little INTP community is a well oiled machine of posting brilliance.

Plus isn't it just gonna be INTP's+(a couple other people). I mean if they aren't posting on their own boards why would they post on some commune thing. I dunno....

As long as it has it's own area you decide whether you hang out there or not.

It gives you the choice of INFP board, INTP board or the melting pot.

I like the NF's input we get here and as you can see if you read their board it has a very different vibe to it, so maybe a melting "N" pot would brew up something with it's own vibe.

thus far there's only been like 3 infps that post more than once a day here and i have no problem with that. there's never going to be a Nvasion that some of these intps seem paranoid of, i'd like to hear the opinions of more infps in their interactions with intps and this doesn't happen at their site and i'm too lazy to go to their site so may as well bring a few here. i like having some enfps, entps and infjs here too. like even if the Nvasion ever does occur we can have a Nquisition and it would make our lives more interesting for a few days. there's a lot less differences than one could imagine... like i probably have more in common with an infp 4w5 than i have with an intp 6 or 9

Ummm.... Actually misuti, we have about 4 INTPs, 3 INFJs and 2 ENTPs on our site. It's just that nobody posts that much, even the INTPs. That's because there isn't as much to repond to. Let me clarify that, people post consistently and often, but not in a chattier kind of way, like here. The posts are usually about three paragraphs long. It's a kind of "post once a day" place, rather than 5, 10, 15, etc.

And the INFPs really like have the INTPs there. They are welcome to join our chat, too. :D I have expressed concern with the admin there, that maybe we should have an All Types Chat Night and she paniced at my post, thinking I was being "prejudiced" and said that everyone was welcome every night. Hee! :D She has no idea what it is like over here. Also, I have asked her if the other types should not put thier type in thier signature. The response was no. They should be able to do what they want.

But, I doubt that thier will be a flood of INTPs over there either. It's just too slow for you guys, I would say. Heh!

No, I really don't care what anyone thinks of me anymore. I am not ashamed that I am not an INTP, nor do I have nothing to hide or any complaints against INTPs. If I do have a problem, thats what the moderaters are for.

Whats the big deal here? Make a link to a forum where there can be some INTP and INFP (inter)action. This place isnt that exclusive anyway as opposed to what some comments may be saying; i mean, anyone can claim to be an INTP and be on here. As a side not, I wonder if there are any "posers"???
