There has been talk of having INTP meetings, however I am sure it is fairly obvious such things would be hard to organize and implement.
In another thread someone proposed finding a system for creating avatars and meeting in a virtual enivroment.

This might be interesting, heck, it might even be fun.

As I mentioned in another thread, there is an MMORG called Project Entropia.
The somewhat unique thing about Entropia is that it is free to join, explore, talk and what not. However the money ingame is real money deposited by credit card, used to buy supplys that are only needed for activitys such as hunting and mining. Depositing money is not required. As entering credit card information is not required.

Several points:
-Decent Graphics
-Extremely customizable avatar creation system.
-Enormous persistant world. No different servers to connect to.
-Most importaintly: Its free. No monthly fee.

All graphics web optimized. Examples.

Previously I had all but left this game, but this seems a new and interesting use for it.

I have created an ingame soceity so that anyone who feels like giving it a try will have a way of meeting. Don't let the word society scare you, it enables use of comminications through a special chat channel.

As it is a larger image (still optimized) you can see the society name and information here:

Yes, the information and name are changable.
To join a society simply apply at an orange terminal ingame.

A more interactive way to meet.

Yes, it was me that proposed it. I'll try to check Entropia out this weekend. Hopefully I'll also have time to update the Tesla thread.

Ascending - I checked out Entropia. This may be the MMORPG that I was referring to earlier, but where I couldn't think of the name. An Australian participant of Entropia named David Storey spent US $ 26,500 for a 6,000 acre virtual island in Entropia. He sees it as an investment, to whit that he can charge other gamers to use his land for mining gold, or sell plots to people building small homes etc. As you said, though, the basic entrance to the world is free. I think I remember reading that there were currently 200,000 people registered! I still think it would be a good thing for us to develop our own world or even stake out a piece in one of these already existing ones. Get in early. Look at the online flea markets that came later, AFTER Ebay. Most people didn't want to go with them even if they were cheaper, because they knew the eyeballs were all going to Ebay. Apparently the world market for participating in MMORPG's is largest in S. Korea for some reason. It will probably grow in the US as more people get into cacooning, and broadband expands and becomes cheaper. I'm surprised that this thread got so little attention so far. Hey, Int, "think BIG", remember? Maybe we could even get federal monery by pointing out that handicapped people can build self esteem "living" there. I wonder if Shai or other Aussie INTP'rs live near this Storey chap? K

That's cool. I'm in like Flynn when I'm running my real computer again. I hope I can wear a Jester's Cap.

I like the idea of virtual worlds. Take the sims for instance. In real life I'm a miserable piece of shit that doesn't care about much of anything. But in the sims I'm happily married with 3 kids and a steady job. Anyway, I'll give it a try.

Investing in "online property" has to be one of the silliest things I've ever heard of. But I guess if that many people think MMORPGs are that interesting, then the investment is technically worth its value. Hoever, I think I'll just save up my money and buy some *real-life* property instead.

If we built our own we would be the ones RECEIVING the money, vs. giving it. Of course, the idea of buying land in someone else's world is that eventually there is some advantage if the popularity of the world keeps growing. The gamble is that maybe it WON'T, of course, which is when coffee zombie's position makes the most sense. But to build our own is a gamble itself, unless we get federal money by leveraging the "handicapped" card. There may be other legit reasons for receiving development money. We'd have to weigh the benny's of giving up some control ( permanently or temporarily ) for receipt of the funds.

A world based on personality types each having their own "piece" of the kingdom could be the "attraction" here, if we built our own. With a central or adjunct zone that was "no man's" for melting pot mingling, night clubs etc. As the founders we would sort of be like "casino owners", paying out occasionally to a "gambler" for publicity, but keeping a significant piece of the input. The exceptions to this would be what we do for the disadvantaged or handicapped. Would they get their own neighborhood or be divided by personality types like the rest? Questions like this are fun to think about, but I would agree that it's counting chickens.

A possible tool would be what's found at www.aesthetic.com. As I recall that is the correct url.

No Jesters caps but the most primative newbie gun is called the Jester interestingly enough. :)
EZ with a pink gun. :D, well... red after the update.

Yes, I stopped playing the game because of the elitism with regular people having noooo chance against people spending thousands in combat. Only a few areas are pvp though so it does not really matter in this scope.

26Gs is just a sample. Shadow armor is the best in the game and runs about 2,000 USD for a full set, although its more then likely the price has raised far beyond that.

Best most efficient weapon the Modified Mercenary (Mod Merc) sells for about 3 thousand dollars. Take an item that was not very rare in the ol' days, have them stop dropping in loots, add 100,000 participants and the demand does funny things.

Anyhow, we should orginize a meeting time on here as soon as we get enough people in.

Secretly I'm performing a social experiment. Gathering our superior intellect to see if we can become a force to contend with in a miniature world simulation, then moving on to the big time.

I'm not looking down my nose for the difference of one letter. :)

Plus, if more then one membership is not attained after a few days the society will be automaticly deleted. ;)

The old society was deleted for lack of converts. :P

New Society name is just "INTP" for those who wish to give it a try.
