View Full Version : posts per page

Okay, I do like that there are more than 10 posts per page now. But now it looks like the default is going to be at least 40 (possibly more) on this forum and I think that's too much. It takes too long to get to the bottom of the screen and in the thread here that we have nearly 40, most of the posts aren't even long. I can imagine what it's going to be like in an active thread full of long posts. It's a mess when scrolling down to look for a specific post, or scrolling up to find a post that someone else in the thread referenced, then scrolling back down to find the message one was just reading.
This isn't even to mention the load time for those still on dialup... just imagine a picture thread where users are posting a lot of images, have large avators, and a lot of people have graphic signatures.
Maybe we could at cut it down to 20? What does everyone else think about this?

My vote is for a property in the profile to allow each user to decide how many posts should be displayed on a page.

I agree completely and would like this feature as well. But I still think as a default, 40+ is too many for a single page.

There are now 20 posts per page.
But I'd also like people to be able to change it in their profile as well. Hmm... File cabinet...?

Don't forget this, no rush, but I'd love 40 posts a page. One of my dislikes of Google is that it only throws up ( often exactly the correct phrasing ) 10 selections at a time.
And whilst we're on admin: the email notifications are OK now, despite not having a clickable link, since just clicking on the link allows it to be copied for pasting; but the sender is listed as 'Unknown'. Sometime you may like to change that to INTPCentral, since not only will that look cool, but with some people's mail programs this could be taken as spam.
Anyway, thanks again for your hard work. :D

You can change that to 100 by modifying the "Preferences."

Wow, thanks. Always assumed the preferences meant for your preferences in searching a particular subject. Did it immediately, & while there changed it to show completely explicit selections as well. After all, I'm over 11...
:D
Incidently, I presume this only applies to this computer ? Doesn't work wherever I am in the world, inputting my settings by merely glancing at any computer around... ?  :)
