An analysis of an 18,000-year-old fossil, described as the remains of a diminutive humanlike creature, proves that genuine cave-dwelling "hobbits" once flourished in Southeast Asia, according to a Long Island anthropologist who conducted X-ray studies of a skull.
What is the difference in a midget and a hobbit? A hobbit is one in a civilization consisting of other hobbits, whereas a midget is a hobbit living in a civilization of tall people? haha.
So what do you all think? Was Tolkien so knowledgeable he knew these existed and incorporated them into his stories? Or is this pure coincidence?
DISScus.
