My locked thread: http://www.intpcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3367

There have been hundreds of posts involved in the ongoing songbird "issue," often devolving into bickering and fighting. Many (three out of four long threads) of these posts have polluted the "useful" forums with total garbage.

So I decided to try and make a thread where I can make some points in a more thought-out manner, in the rants and raves forum (which is in the "flamethrower" for christ's sake), and it is locked with the message: "Keep it to PM's please."

The only sensible conclusion I can draw from this is that you also want the off-topic bitching that's infecting other threads to be kept in PMs.

If that is correct, then that is awesome, and I will be glad to help make sure it happens.

If that is not correct, then I am very confused (understandably, I think), and would like an explanation.

Are you trying to start yet *another* bitch thread?

Good luck to you.

Yes, that is correct, we are all sick of the constant bickering that you mentioned and all parties have been talked to in PM - it is obviously still an issue but we would like to keep this to PM as much as possible

Nope, and notice that the thread in question didn't even turn into such.

... meaning, my desire is to rid the forums of this problem. My participation in the past was due to the fact that there was no sign that it would be "outlawed" by the moderators. If they can actually make it go away, then that would rule.

You're the one who's initiating it garak. You and Zedo and Mgbradsh.

You don't like me? Get over it. Bitch about me to each other in PMs if you must but keep it off here - you've had all the warning you need from the Admins.

Real smart, shaytana. It's not going in PMs because the disgust with songbird is a worldwide phenomenon with scarce exception. I'll not hesitate to call her garbage "garbage."

How healthy is it for an unwelcome someone to hold on so strongly and be ever-present?

Not healthy at all. Not healthy at all.

Actually, the fights are entertaining and usually take place on threads that have already flown off topic. If people don't like it, there are hundreds of other threads they can look at. But they do like it. Everytime it happens there are like 10-15 people watching, it's entertaining and can turn an otherwise boring evening into an adventure.

Seriously, things go off topic all the time. Those threads don't get locked.

Oh an SB, I thought I've already shown you on other threads that you have intiated most of the fights. I can do it again if you wish.

So are these comments Geoff. Everytime this happens you pop in with, "This is getting real old."

Don't like it, turn the channel.

Try these:

http://intpcentral.com/forums/profile.php?do=addlist&userlist=ignore&u=362

Should help. You'll never need to read those arguments again.

Ah, shame, they all have interesting things to say at times, I just need a selective ignore. Maybe I should just get out more :)
