A 14-year-old New Jersey girl has been accused of child pornography after posting nearly 30 explicit nude pictures of herself on MySpace.com — charges that could force her to register as a sex offender if convicted.

Amerrrikuh... fuck yeah! Coming again, to save the mother fucking day yeah!

Ok, I think there should definitely be something done to try and keep 14 year old kids from posting nude pictures of themselves on the internet, but something tells me that registering them as sex offenders isn't it.

A girl I was with had to register as a sex offender for flashing her boobs at a football game.

EDIT: Actually, it might have been at a parade for a game. I'll have to ask about it again some time.

Disturbing. And downright stupid.

I don't see why posting nude pictures of yourself is qualified as
a) pornography
and/or, quite separetly
b) worthy of or demanding punishment/legal consequence

... regardless of age. If it's by your consent, whats the problem beyond your own?

This girl and the 13 year old who got stripped searched should have a party.

Again what is amusing is not the fact there are people who would try to do stuff like this which is complete nonsense, it is the fact that the local people dont take a stance on it and go protest about it and rebel against the government if the girl is declared guilty.

Called "sexting" when it's done by cell phone, teenagers' habit of sending sexually suggestive photos of themselves and others to one another is a nationwide problem that has confounded parents, school administrators and law enforcers.

...

Slang much?

Also, for the record, I never had this habit when I was a teenager. I must be an anomaly.

We must protect the children!... from themselves... by throwing them in jail... huh?

Yeah, this is a terrible application of the law. This is the sort of thing that probably warrants the cops having a stern talk with the kid's parents. I really don't think the legal system is the right place to handle this. Ideally, parents. Maybe a school counselor?

I actually think that is reasonable and sends a decent message that the parents have completely failed and obviously have the internet/ISP connection as a babysitter.

What she's doing is essentially entrapment. If a person innocently went to her webspace page, they're now a criminal because they now have child pornography on their computer (in the browser cache).

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable execution of a pre-emptive, "what's good for the goose" strike for equality to me.

Imagine walking down the street and being arrested for looking at a 14 yr old that jumped out and flashed you in public, who is the perpetrator there?
