View Full Version : Using physiognamy as a way to identity types?

ever done it? do you think its possible?...why\why not?

How would you differentiate a J type from a P, or a T type from an F, or an S from an N.

I noticed INTJs in particular have an anal look about them...they usually have narrow\sharp incisive long noses, narrow space between the eyebrows, more angular facial features...

I will speak more about this later

Not something I would ever go by, but...

ESJ tends to be fat, both sexes
NT males thin, look discerning
ESFP females are often very attractive
STP females can be a little bit masculine
ISTJ males tend to have a straight, tight appearance (they look normal, almost plain)
P males often look a bit more eye catching, not necessarily in a good or bad way
ISFJ females often pretty, INFJ females often have a kind of beauty
INFP females a bit homely
FP males often seem to stay sexy and fit

Tons of exceptions to these guidelines I've seen, but overall I think that type does correlate with physical appearance.

I agree with most of your observations...there are exceptions as you say, but it is possible to make some vague conjectures based on a majority of a certain type.

NT males thin, look discerning

most of the time

ESFP females are often very attractive
true, some look very stupid as well...good for a bang and then you want to get rid of them ASAP.

ISTJ males tend to have a straight, tight appearance (they look normal, almost plain)
yeah...engineers & accountants :thumbdow:

P males often look a bit more eye catching, not necessarily in a good or bad way

its the eyes

true...

famous INTJs...taking a guess

...as you can see, most of them have an anal\constipated look on their faces

"physiognomy" I meant

also their noses are likely to be level or to point\taper downward slightly

now...FAMOUS INTPs

INTPs tend to be a little more detached, more contemplative, less anal, wider larger open foreheads, short to long eagle like noses in some cases, noses somewhat more rounded...not as incisive as INTJ noses, rounded contemplative eyebrows

I found this on a website...

INTps often have a characteristic round-shouldered posture. Their necks are often not as well proportioned as other types and their heads seem to strain forwards. Their eyes have a sorrowful look about them as if they are about to be victimised in some way. Their noses are somewhat aquiline in shape which combined with often flattened cheekbones giving the false impression that their noses are large.

During conversation INTps may project their lower lips forward. INTps often show poor control of their lower jaw, allowing them to hang down. INTps normal facial expressions usually reflect wisdom and great life experience or sadness and victimisation. Although INTps are introverts, some of them may behave in a very extroverted manner.

didn't socionics have a thing about visually typing people?

Yo, you didn't include NT females.
Honestly, I've always found INFps to be more attractive than INFjs.
But I agree that Fp males just seem to know what women like to see - and then they try to please.

Is that William Blake? I don't think he's an INTP.

Lincoln wasn't an INTP, either.

See how I did that? It's called multi-quoting, use the little button with the plus sign, to the right of the quote button.

Pure magic.

Do it.

I see

Yo, you didn't include NT females.

I think they would be somewhat similar to INTP men except prettier.

Everything I've read about Lincoln suggests he's an ENFJ. I know a few websites that type him as one.

Schopenhauer is so NOT INTP. He's more of an ISTJ, what with all that super-regular lifestyle, his choleric temper and his stick-up-the-ass philosophy. The only times he's halfway bearable is when he steals ideas from Buddhism.
...this feels good, I think I should post that in "Least Favorite Philosophers", too.

Machiavelli INTP? Hmmm, I don't buy it...

Maybe Lao Tzu. But only because I'd be flattered to be connected to him through typology.

Wow. What a stupid thread. I would explain the hows and whys, but I am loathe to state the obvious. Maybe that's because of my long, pointy nose.
