View Full Version : Minnesota Summer Meet-up!

Well, well, well, it's about that time again, the time of year when the birds are singing, the trees are leafing out, all the pasty northerners are crawling out of their caves, blinded by that big yellow thing in the sky that they vaguely remember from last year, and wondering where that extra ten pounds settled around their ass came from.

Might as well meet-up, right?

We're looking at June, 13th, 20th or 27th.

I wonder if I'll show up to this one? Hmm............

I'm up in Winnipeg and the 27th is at the start of my week off work. I could possibly make it down for then. The only thing in my way is that as of June 1st you Americans are making us Canadians bring a passport to get into your country (currently you need one to fly but not drive). My passport expired last December so my entry into your country would depend on me being able to renew it in time.

i haven't been there in a long time.

if someone actually does bring a gift, i will feel very awkward... don't do it. besides, i'm not sure i am attending; it would be tres stupid if a gift was brought and i wasn't there in the first place.

Why was your friend shy?

it is her nature. genuine kindness and acceptance shoo the shyness away pretty easily in her case, though.

sex world and the smitten kitten seemed to brazen and public for her first time; it's not everyones cup of tea and that's ok. but don't ever substitute fantasy gifts in instead!

spread the good word.

last weekend i accidentally ended up attending twilight (big queer women's festival, for those not in the know). p.j. harvey showed up (she was in town to perform for the festival on saturday) at the kck friday night (which is where i was accidentally also present), and i danced with her. i didn't exactly realize it was her until it was almost over, but what can i say? all my Se were being used for teh dancing.

That is so hot though, I was picturing Thelma and Louise with less pants (although I have never seen that movie)

That is my "big week off" from work for the second time in three years, I will be at the lake.

You need a puppet-master. That is the only reason the MN meet-ups happen. I sure as fuck couldn't do it on my own.

We're hearty stock here and we all have swiss army type pocket shovels for emergencies, although the pansies around lake 'tonka probably have people to carry them for them.

Plymouth is almost due west from the airport!

They suck too.

And yes, I am further north, leave the airport and start heading towards Canada, and when the street turns into one lane dirt road, take a right. I'll be sitting outside in my wife beater.

I've been to car shows with Florida types like that, with leathery skin, withered limbs and tar liquid-rattle coughs.
I was no longer in Kansas, I clicked my heels but they thought I was a fellow right wing good ol' boy.
I remember little of Plymouth except pwnage and stoppage, I sat in an Embassy suites for two days straight looking at some university in the far distance, and I got talked into going to that behemoth mall, that freakishly doesn't need heating mid-winter - (no, really, WHY? - it sucks that much juice, like a giant server room?)

I also accidentally drove to Minneapolis from Plymouth one time, lol. Lastly, it's where my most recent date lived. We went to the Cheesecake factory hehe.

We started off at Mac's,
Here is file cabinet fingering Rajah's stand in (Rajah is a vampire and does not actually show up in photos) she really enjoyed it:

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j28/jstjn11/INTP3/IMG_4468.jpg

Then we went to the 331, they had a band that sucked, the lady singer unhinged her jaw to hit the high notes, I was disturbed, yet mesmerized.
Pics from the classy ladies room there:

I agree that face cunt rocks, but I did not write this:
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j28/jstjn11/INTP3/IMG_4469.jpg

I need music to pee, so this was good:

I did write this, because I am mature like that:

I agree with this statement:
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j28/jstjn11/INTP3/IMG_4472.jpg

Then we hit Gasthof's (http://www.gasthofzg.com/)
No one ordered the boot:
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j28/jstjn11/INTP3/IMG_4481.jpg

Just their basic tall beers which are as large as small humans:

I am tired, that is all.

It's got a weird kind of Scandinavian-Germanic thing going on, you don't tend to meet many people that moved away, unless it's for the usual Hollywood/LA draw. I would probably live there if it wasn't cold as fuck, same goes for New York.

Heh. It's a date! You come up here and I will buy you a very special mixed drink at Gastof's, I asked the bartender who kept winking at me what it was called, and he said it was the "Tie me to a bedpost". It's made in the same large mug pictured above, with seven different types of booze and some fruity shit too, even the smell of the empty glasses on the bar gave me a buzz. I made some of the others smell it too because I am weird like that.
