I have a substantial layover in Amsterdam and djm has amiably agreed to entertain me between flights. Yes, OMW, I am a wiener. Who's cool enough to join us? Anyone who knows their way around would be especially appreciated.

I'll go out on a limb and say that I'm cool enough to join you. However, I'm not wealthy or commitmentless (not a word) enough. As it turns out, there is no quantity of "cool" which is sufficient enough on its own to allow for world travel. What the hell, right?

That said, you have a great time. Wiener.

Totally legit.

Come on all you Dutch and Belgian INTPcers, it's not far on a train and you can easily skive off for a day.

I might feel for this. (Feel? Is that possible as an INTP?). Probably I'll be a bit nervous and a lot quiet, but it's a nice idea and it's close for me (I live in Leiden).

Thats dreadful, global warming is endangering pirates. Soon LR will be the only pirate in the world, doomed to sail the seven seas in piratey isolation until the next ice age cometh.

Still there is no doubt that we are cool and you should all come to Holland.

I'm not cool, sorry.

If I could get there for less than $100 I would totally do it, lack of coolness notwithstanding. I love skipping work, especially on Mondays.

If we think in space and time, at which coordinates of them would we be meeting? Central station as location maybe?

Here in Holland coming monday's not a work day. Use that as an excuse...

Definitely the easiest place to meet, outside the main entrance to the right of it (as you leave) near the bike storage area?

Have not booked my flight yet so tricky setting a time - will suggest one in the next day or so.

It is here too, but I will be working in France, well if you call visiting vineyards with your best mate working. But it's what I get paid for so there you go.

It would be 5 hours of train to Amsterdam for me - I might be able to make it 3 if I get to use my brother's room in Brussels. My best friend might also be in Amsterdam at that time. I'll see what I can do (a friend from Vancouver is visiting the days before...don't know the exact days yet). When do you arrive and when is your next flight?

Yeah, I looked at flights and they are just a tiny bit over $100.
Maybe I can sell one of the DH's kidneys? I mean, i have a knife, right?

I like graphs.

If we think in space and time, at which coordinates of them would we be meeting? Central station as location maybe?

As the train goes directly there, I don't think I would get too lost finding it. Hopefully. So that would be an appropriate place. I will be the lost-looking American with carry-on sized luggage.

I arrive at the airport at 7:40am and my next flight is at 8:45pm. It would be sooo awesome if you could make it!

The thing is that my friend is staying till June 2nd, we could make it a weekend in Amsterdam and include Monday. I don't know if you guys would want a stranger at the meet-up, though. She's ENFJ. I don't know if she wants to meet up with a bunch of INTPs either. j/k, she's open to introverts  :theclap: (excessive smiley use brought to you by my brother Alexje "Ajajak" King of All jakjakjak  :sadbanana:  )

I bet there are actually more pirates now than there were in 1820. While this graph is meant to be a sarcastic take on causality, the fact that it's grossly incorrect and so widely used is really annoying.

Shit, I really should have considered your feelings a bit more in a thread exclusively about sandwich's upcoming trip to Amsterdam.

Ok, 7:40 at Schiphol (I assume)... What time do you think you will take the train to Amsterdam Central?

(I am nervous already... oh no, just excited).

Are there any specific things you or anyone would like to see? I guess some of you might know the town better than me, but I could always prepare something (I'm not good at remembering routes).

Oh yeah, not coming monday, but the one after. It's what I meant. It's also my birthday...

Nocando, I would need at least a month just to ponder/strategize, I would need lots of purpose, besides, work has become busier lately, I'm at an airport right now, getting out of the mid-west lickety splits, before jetting up to the capitol on Tuesday.
Amsterdam is definitely on my list of must-see places though. I've never been.

Well if you ever do get there PM me, I go to Belgium and Holland every couple of months so it's a pretty easy place for me to organise so long as I have some notice.

I am sorting out my flights and hotel next day or so, looking forwards to it - should be a good day out.

As soon as I get through Customs and verify that my luggage is going the right way. I'm not sure how much time that will take. I don't expect people to show up at 8:30 am, so I may find a nice coffee place to hide in when I make it into the city.

What about 10:00 that we meet? It doesn't really matter, I'm mostly up early anyway.

It would be a good idea to have eachother's numbers so that we can find one another...

So the Amsterdam meet-up resulted in Llewellyn and I roaming around Centraal. djm couldn't make it due to the fact that he actually does important stuff for a living, and the rest of you were slackers. But we managed and had a good time with good conversation and the city is quite nice!

I'm sure pictures will be posted later.
