The number of women being arrested for for drunk and disorderly behavior has drastically literally exploded in the UK.

The problem of women drunks is particularly bad in the West Midlands, where arrests increased by 1,138 percent from 59 arrests in 2003/2004 to 731 in 2007/2008, according to police figures collected by Channel 4 News

I don't consider 731 female D&D arrests in a region with a population of 5.2 million to be so bad.

I have certainly noticed more groups of females heading out on a Saturday night and getting plastered than there were 20 years ago. Groups of young men have always been fond of the beer. I think it simply a change of attitude, the social barriers that would have made it seem unladylike back then have gone and now its "if the boys can do it, so can the girls". I don't see the fact that the female body can't handle as much alcohol as an issue. Everyone can only drink to point they fall over anyhow and so they pace themselves.

heh, I'm from the west midlands. I have a couple of cousins (sisters) that seem to engage in this behavior and seem very ESFJ, one of them almost lost an eye to a crazy drunk girl with a broken glass. I'd like to get all of my cousins (have lost count) to take the MBTI, but it would be like herding cats.

Drunk girls always get away with a lot more than moderately drunk guys would, back in Birmingham, I remember a friend of mine getting kicked down the stairs by the bouncers because he had bumped someone and spilled their drink, it's customary to buy them a replacement (unwritten rule) and he was a nice guy, but he never got the opportunity.

The north is the worst for this sort of thing, girls in Yorkshire, yikes. I remember on holiday in Yarmouth once a group of Wakefield teenage Lasses flashing us from their room while the father slept downstairs. And we watched, even got a private showing at the open downstairs bathroom window...

Binge Drinking in general seems to be the problem, not specific to girls. Teens these days think that drinking is the only way to have fun anymore (short of drugs), that alcohol can solve their problems, social and otherwise.

After dating a few younger (mid twenties to me) binge drinking females I have learned that the fun leaves the relationship situation relatively quickly. For short term flings though... hey, the bar is open!
