I am in need of some sources.
I'm looking for free code of some sort for a message board system. I know there is some out there, as I actually used one at one time. I forget exactly which software I used, though, and what was necessary for it (ASP, perhaps?).
Are there any out there that you'd recommend?

phpbb is pretty common..
http://phpbb.com -- you would need Apache(not sure if it works with IIS) + MySQL + PHP

It works fine with IIS, but Apache is supposedly a better server overall. Phpbb2 is a pain in the neck to upgrade though and you will probably end up wanting to add a lot of functionality and new templates that are not included in a normal Phpbb2 installation (which is pretty basic to begin with), to do that you will need to have access to your MySQL interface (most hosts allow you to log in using a web interface) and add some stuff in manually, so make sure that your host will allow you to do that.
http://www.simplemachines.org/ :: This is also another free forum you can download. I'm not sure if you are familiar with YabbSE, but this is the successor to that forum system. YabbSE had a lot of built in functionality and was easy to upgrade and maintain, but had a lot of security holes, so they redid it.

I've used phpbb, and it worked nicely. In my control panel at my domain, there were several to choose from that I could just click on to install.
http://www.phpbbhacks.com gives you some nice options...

Ah yes, this looks like the forum I used before. Worked well, too.
I'll check out the others while I'm at it.
Thanks all!
