View Full Version : Non-custom ranks besides Introvert

Except for those of us who have been Named, the only possible rank is Introvert (or so it seems). I think it would be a good idea to start with Introvert, then maybe change to Intuitive at 50 posts, Thinker at 200, and Perceiver at 500.

I know that at 350 posts, people get named. But I can see us having to jack up that number in the future, such that we'll eventually need the Perceiver rank. Of course, we could raise the necessary post counts for each rank as we raise the necessary post count for naming. But I think that would cause a lot of confusion: "Yesterday I was a Perceiver, today I'm a Thinker, what gives?"

Just an idea. Hope you like.

I'm still waiting to be 'named'
no rush though, I can be pretty patient.
Ngene will have to configure the various ranking things.

I don't want to be named at all.

Why should there be a difference? All it signifies if how much time you've spent. Maybe only mods should get ranks, and leave it at that. Someone gets enough posts, make them a mod.

I like the idea and the suggested post counts. And because I will either drop the namings or raise the post count to 1000 or something, the ranks can be safely set now.

So, there you go, new ranks. :cheers:

I'm well aware that some of you guys couldn't care less about ranks and titles, so I assume you won't care about me setting them either. ;)

I don't care about the titles so much, but having rankings does make it more regular. Only thing is I think you ought to stick the list up somewhere so people know what to expect & when. On the book forum the lowest rank was bookworm: I did do extra posts to get beyond that one pretty fast...
:D

{ & for newer members, how about recalling the online tests from the old forum to the online tests forum here ? After all, gives them something to do, and I doubt if they know the Archive exists. }

Hm... this is supposed to be primarily an INTP board, but not exclusively, right? Having ENTPs named as "Introverts" and INFPs named as "Thinkers" etc doesn't sound right to me. It is like trying to convert people or like you have to be an INTP to join this board...

I am an INFP an I don't mind the ranking system, besides this is a forum for mainly INTPs. I do think that when a person has made enough posts that we should name them. I think naming people is a cool idea, once the person gets beyon the rank of percieving.

You do have a point there, and I was wondering the same thing, but my reasoning was pretty much like ohnoaninfp's - although any types are welcome, this forum is primarily for INTPs.

Though I must admit that seeing "Thinker" under ohnoaninfp's name is kind of funny. :rofl:

Yeah, I know. The titles are a good way of keeping post count as well. I seem to loose count of how many posts (232 with this post) 'cause I never posted much on other boards. Shocking how much posts I've racked up.
