I just saw this from a photo-site article, war/people censorship. I'm quite shocked that people will mess with a masterpiece, imo, like this picture. What's going on?

This just makes whoever censored that photo look like a creep.

That’s the problem with censorship, it tends to be over-inclusive. ( for some reason my comment sounds like an oxymoron)
Why censor at all, I just don't get it, especially nudity and verbal words, another sign of the double-moral of today as we're not censoring worse things like for example dead bodies, decapitated bodyparts, violence and so on.
But why stop there, maybe we could go a little further, let's censor ugliness too, ugly faces, ugly kids, ugly old ones perhaps even poverty.
But why stop with the "censoring" why not forbid it wholly, let the ugly and poor things live somewhere else where we don't have too see it, just as we do with street-musicans in big cities.

Sexualizing that image is horrible.

Blame people like Gary Glitter.

I remember being a kid and seeing that image in (I believe it was) Life Magazine. It was probably one of the most influential images on my young mind... To (stupidly) censor it like that only serves to remove some of the horror from it.
Images of war should be horrific.

perhaps even poverty.
China "censored" their poor areas with fencing around the time of the olympics. So I've read on weirdasianews.com.
Actually, China censors pretty much everything these days.

Probably to hide the poor naked kids that can't afford clothes.

the saddest part was that they were probably intending to censor the nudity, not the horror. as if a girl being naked is what is wrong with or disturbing to see about that whole scene.
"oh yes, show me the ugly brutality of war, but could you please protect me from the natural human form? i just don't think i could handle it even in a young child even if its not sexual."
seriously, what is wrong with our culture? I've even seen pictures of mutilated bodies with the penis blurred out. It's OK to see someone's insides spilling out, but heaven forbid I see a dick?

What has always disturbed me more is that the other children are dressed.
It suggests horrors untold up the road and back in time past the jaded G.I.s.

Hostel II's infamous scene in which a lesbian mass-murdering vampire gouges out a young woman's vital organs with a machete to bathe naked in her blood almost made the movie NC-17... then they removed the part in the scene where the vampire tweaks her own nipple to pass that movie off as rated-R.
It wasn't the gore, it was the sexualization the MPAA had an issue with.

Funny thing about the MPAA- showing people thrusting hips is unspeakably obscene. Such filth.
a movie worth checking out

Ah yes. Naked children = pedophile food. Lets just get rid of the children altogether to prevent them from ever being sexualized. That's the real problem here. Not the silly horrors we're facing with worldwide.

I would have to say war is worse. Censoring naked kids will only affect pedophiles, whereas war affects everybody.
