I'm pretty sure it's a reflection of something on the camera (the pictures were taken at opposite angles, so it couldn't have been in the room), at least I haven't ever actually seen it in the mirror.

There is a glass globe yellow light in the breakfast area, but it was off and we were facing opposite directions taking the pictures. It's not out of the realm of possibility that it is somehow the yellow glass globe light in the adjacent space, I really don't think it's actually an artifact of the eye itself.
