View Full Version : An annoying little problem...

I've been logging in, knowing full well that there are new posts, reason being that I've been away for a day or so. I log in, the index page shows lots of nice blue bubbles. I click on something, maybe reply to a single thread, then go to the main page again by clicking the link at the top or with the pulldown.
All the bubbles are black, all posts are marked as read, as though I clicked the "mark all posts read" thing even though I haven't.
It peeves me to no end.
Anyone got an idea?

That doesn't fix the problem, it just goes around it.
I want it fixed.

maybe go here? http://intpcentral.com/ ? that's where I usually start off, although it kind of looks like bathroom tile... although it doesn't denote the threads you've read/not read.
Hah. I have an opposite problem. When I respond to a thread I get sent back to it, review my post, then "jump" back to the forum I was viewing. The thread I just responded to is still marked as new.
Also, if I visit and come back an hour (or whatever) later, all the threads I already read are still new (although they were marked as read when I left). I have to select "Mark forums read" when I leave, which has other consequences - like if I didn't read one thread but intend to later, it's still marked as read.
