Are there many INTPs who do like dancing?

funny, cjs. (me too, incidentally, unless I'm quite drunk)

I think dancing is one of the few opportunities that people are allowed to showboat. Perhaps INTP's aren't exactly fond of that type of thing.

Shai might be the exception, being a narcassist and all.

Dancing is great fun but I prefer to do it in the solitude of my own room with the doors locked. Other than that, if I'm drunk enough, I'll dance in front of everybody.

When I get drunk, I hate it even more. You have a .1% chance of getting me to dance if I'm not drunk or tipsy, if drunk that plummets to .01%

coffeezombie

When INTPs get drunk enough, I guess they don't really care how much they suck at dancing.

No, I still do.

Wait, no, I hate dancing for other more intellectual reasons dammit.

Since its finals time that is true at the moment, but if you had said that 3 weeks ago you would have never been so utterly incorrect~

i only ballroom dance because there are rules, and ways to do it and it is easier than the flopping your body around on the dance floor to some beat.

I've never danced, never had the desire, and never will dance. I don't get it at all, it truly seems meaningless to me.

Shai Gar

as my ESFP mate told me when he was teaching me to seduce, "it doesnt matter what YOU like, learn what she likes, do what she likes, show her you want her, but dont care you you get her. and do what she likes"

it mightn't get you the girl of your dreams, but it will get you the girl for the night

Shai Gar

but thankfully in this case our likes coincide

Isn't that called being whipped? I guess I just don't need sex enough to enslave myself to doing things a woman wants to do but that I don't.

I've never danced, never had the desire, and never will dance. I don't get it at all, it truly seems meaningless to me. Roughly the same, except that partly it was due to spending my teenage years reading and other things rather than going to clubs: had I ever tried, possibly I might have enjoyed it --- I am always haunted by the fact that I despised whistling until I found I could do it...

But... if you watch an old film, and women are marvelling at the undoubted skill of Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire, and you may be bored rigid, haven't you just once wondered what possible difference it could make if the steps were differently chosen ? It just seems arbitrary...

Classical ballet is OK, if only for the obvious reasons why a male would watch.

Claverhouse

Yeah, I didn't mean to seem like I was putting it down, I agree that it can be entertaining to watch. It is just completely foreign and unnatural to me personally. People talk about just letting the "music flow through your body" and your "natural expression" and all that, but the gene that causes that must have been missing when my brain was forming. Fortunately the gene that causes sheer genius took its place.

I shouldn't go so far as to say that by any means.

Too much pride is sinful.

But it's not one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Pride is.

Most especially if it denies you pussy.

I refuse to dance for pussy.

 SIL you are making me laugh today. On the outside. So much so that coke bubbles went up my nose.

But as soon as I read that I imagined a whole lot of scantily-clad girls with whips, cracking them on your back, saying "Dance, bitch!", and you wincing and half-heartedly doing some Irish Jig, before receiving another crack on your back and a "Like you ENJOY it. No pussy for you unless you put some effort in!"

Opera, Ballroom Dancing, Merlot, classical music, what the fuck is this shit?!

Whatever happened to going over to your girlfriend’s place, raiding her parent’s liquor cabinet, getting shitfaced and dry humping on the lawn until the neighbors got the garden hose out???

Fucking kids these days.

anyway, jemma and i are talking to each other again, we ARE going dancing tommorow night, and we DID to go subway together today for lunch, though i DIDN'T tell her about the dream i had this morning where she and alyssa were in bed with me and we were having a threesome

Shai Gar
28 Apr 2005, 02:25 PM
Jemma is now cranky at me, though we are talking tommorow. Jemma and i are NOT going to be dancing tommorow, i found out the times for dancing and it is 2000 untill 2330 and jemmas mother will not allow her to stay out that late (keeping in mind jemma is 17, almost 18 and tommorow night is friday) and then i told jemma basically "yeah, whatever, i dont care. i will take someone else dancing" and she got the shits with me, fucking cracked a hughe shit just because i wouldnt take her dancing when her mother wouldnt let her come. but we got over that hurdle and i told her fuck it, i am not going to sit idly by and let her mother fuck things up for us (not in those words) so i am organising ballroom dancing in tannum sands, i have organised discos before that raise over a thousand dollars profit in a night, so i am going to do it again, only this time i only want to cover the costs and maybe get someone in to actually MC it for us.

tommorow i will start, although i have found a few places that we could do it, such as the churches, boyne island community centre, tannums CWA hall, and i will get the rest of it done tommorow for next week. come hell(heatwave) or high water(tsunami), this motherfucker's gunna BOUNCE (in a ballroom dancing way of course.)

if anyone has any experience at these things, or at ballroom dancing please give me a PM telling me what you think i will need, or post it in here. the last ball i went to was 6 years ago.

I hate dancing, too. I just got back from the prom, and my date was determined to dance. Maybe it's doing something potentially embarrassing in front of hundreds of people, maybe it's having someone put his hands on my hips and popping my personal bubble, but dancing sucks.

I have a weak shadow barrier, so I have occasionally danced, but if I do, I 'show off' to the point of being ridiculous to poke fun at people that attempt to show off with dancing.

Also, I went to a rave once, and it was so fucking loud that people really just flailed around however the hell they wanted to. That was fun.

I used to think so too, till I moved into an apartment by myself. Now that I am certain no one will see me I can finally enjoy it. But when I'm in public I completely agree with you!!

I hate dancing too. With a passion. However, this one time I took a women on the dance floor just because another guy was walking up to her and I didn't want him to have a conversation with her and grab her. So I just took her hand and said "let's go". It was awesome at the time since it was pure dominant male behaviour, but I sucked so bad she left the dance floor after 3 minutes and the other guy went to talk with her anyway, which they left together.

Now, whenever a women wants to dance, I just express my lack of approval and bust her on it (works when you've established some attraction). Works in my favour most times because we leave the club altogether to a place that's more in my element, like a walk or to a after-hours restaurant or coffee bar.
