One of the myths has been Aboriginal people destroy government houses, or that they are not used to western style houses.

Seems that less than 9% of problems with Aboriginal housing is related to vandalism.

The award was for basically getting water pipes to 5,000 houses (already fitted bathrooms) i.e. government supplied houses never had the water connected.

The biggest difference anyone can do for health in poverty stricken areas is the supply of adequate clean water. It's great to see Oz beating Bangladesh and India...

Australian housing seems so fragile. There is a reality show on TV here called Neighbours; every time they shut a door the wall shakes. Frightening.

That's what happen's when you haven't chopped down all your trees centuries ago.

Our excuse for wooden houses and light steel rooves is that they shake quite well, rather than fall on your head.

Super actually. The skies are bizarrely empty. I live to just the side of the flightpath of Manchester Airport. Normally the sky is full of vapour trails but there is nothing, just a sky blue dome. I find the complete absence of air traffic slightly disconcerting. Further I wondered how many others have actually looked up and noticed any difference.

{I think I should have spent the day on the roof with my 7x50s scanning the sky for UFOs. They can't hide in empty skies!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ph34r:}

EDIT: I have just checked a few of the UFO boards and there is lot of UFO spotting going on.
