This is kinda like one of those "that don't deserve their own thread" threads, but without the lame, long-ass names. I also didn't quite know what it should be about: Unfinished thoughts? Theories? Observations? Categorizations? Oninations? Whatever. Just use it for whatever you've been thinking about lately that is too insignificant or unfinished to justify it's own thread. Writing these down will allow us to come back to them later, add more, and receive input all along the way.

So, here goes:

I've noticed that I'm way better at playing Street Fighter with a keyboard than with a gamepad. This might seem ass-backwards to a lot of people, but when you really think about it, it should come as no surprise that the keyboard can speed up your game. It's spread out more so than a gamepad, kind of like an arcade stick, allowing you to use more of your fingers without having to rely on your thumbs at all really, greatly speeding up moves. You also don't have to fool with a clunky d-pad or miniature joystick for the good ol' down, down-forward, forward motions -- these are awkward and slow on a gamepad, but near instantaneous with keys.

Obviously, this doesn't hold true of all characters in the game, especially those with moves that involve circular and zig-zaggy type motions (Zangief, etc) -- these are nearly impossible to pull off with a keyboard. So, I guess that overall the arcade stick is still best.

So, for Ryu, Ken and a few other characters: keyboard > arcade stick > gamepad. For everyone: arcade stick > keyboard > gamepad. Finally, for Zangief and a few other guys: arcade stick > gamepad > keyboard.

It would take me quite some time to look through all the move lists and practice with characters to give a comprehensive breakdown, but I might still do it... Or not, whichever.
