Wow, that's good. I like the entire symbolism with the cold. You captured the "freezing" effect well too with the figure in the painting.

Oil Pastel. I prefer the cheap cray-pas because they are dryer than the expensive kinds and blend better.

Oh man, I know what you mean! It's funny, but the cheap stuff sometimes works better than the $150 material. And wet, oily pastel isn't that easy to work with. It also looks too "pasted on" versus the effect yours (with the dryer oil pastel) has on me...flowing, easy edges with a smooth texture that allows the freezing cold air to permeate the scene. Did you do this for a class or just for fun?
