Hmmmm..I've gotten INFP on other tests but I always think the description doesn't fit quite as well as INTP. I mean between
INFP: You are creative with a great imagination, living in your own inner world.
and
INTP: You are analytical and logical - and on a quest to learn everything you can.
there's no contest which one fits me better.
I sometimes think I want/need/value personal relationships a bit more than the average INTP, maybe that's why I skew F-ish...

I noticed on your pictures that you're left-handed. This is a longshot, but I have never known a left-hander with a low F component. That's including NTP ones. The MBTI model seemingly makes the type an either-or question in this regard (dom. vs. inf. T & F), when it really isn't, which could explain why your shrink picks up on the F and deducts the type to be INFP.

Look at the Preference Border Poll thread (http://forums.intpcentral.com/showthread.php?t=977). You have 35 people saying they are on the cusp of J/P, but only 2 admit to being potentially an ISTP.
Sensors are looked down on as "stupid" by many iNtuitives. I think there are a few ISTPs masquerading as INTPs. But they refuse to be honest with themselves due to the S/N bias. After all Einstein was an INTP...

Probably; I wonder about myself sometimes. As has been mentioned before, though, S types are probably less likely to be hanging around internet personality forums taking online polls so I don't think that result is unreasonable.

Meh, I dunno. I only know a couple ISTPs, but I can't fathom them spending much time here or any place similar. I would imagine an ISTP would be likely to use the internet generally, and this board specifically, more for directly useful information or amusement purposes and less in an effort to seek knowledge to improve one's (for Eileen) gobal understanding. If an S is borderline enough to be interested in this board and typology, then does it really matter if s/he is an S or an N? I think it's more probable that there are confused E's, F's, and J's here than S's. (I'm also not removing myself from that possibility.)

Let me ask you something, honestly. When you think about this and analyse yourself, what are the crucial factors, what is the determinal on which you conclude you are a T? I have troubles myself identifying my dominant function, and you can see the X in my signature. Personally, what I think for myself is that my dominant function is Ti, who has an equal substitute hiding behind it which is called Fi. I would say that my Ti is stronger than my Te and my Fi is stronger than my Fe, but that would probably not be possible. So what are the things that make you beleive you are a T? Or at least what helps you negate the Fi?

Observant, Hush. :).
I tend to notice it since I'm also left-handed.
So basically fine motor skills = left hand, gross motor skills = right hand.
I read somewhere that the human brain is predisposed to have its fine-motorics center in the left hemisphere, and the reason for this change in left-handers is typically because of the adapting to brain damage. What to make of it is another thing, though, since it appears there are several theories without anybody really knowing what's going on.
I'm sure there's some left-brain/right-brain thing going on here somewhere.
Something to that extent, I believe so too. There's a center in the brain, just behind the right frontal lobe, that apparently deals with emotions (or such.)

Gud kwestion.
I believe I'm a T because:
- My chosen career is science, which fascinates me (as opposed to something more F like teaching or counselling, in which the theory is interesting but the practical side scares me a bit, dealing with all those people)
- I like to discuss issues without necessarily reaching a "compassionate understanding" with the other person, just "rational understanding" is enough.
- I hate political correctness
But my attraction to art I think is an Fi thing. I don't see my Fi as being negated, just as a complement to more-oft used Ti. I identify with the lyrics of a lot of NFP songwriters e.g. Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Morrissey. I guess 5w4 fits me better than INTP or INFP. As it probably does for you too.

2. INTJ

4. ENTP
5. ISTJ (oh the horror!)
*EDIT* - and now after reviewing all 10 pages I see I am a one of a kind. Winterpark scores similar, but he doesn't seem to agree with his results, whereas I think mine are bang on.
One note, I remember one quiz that actually showed a numeric scoring of your types (there's a thread somehwere in the archives). This can be much more insightful, as some of us can be overwhelmingly our top 1 or 2 types, but this test has to list 5 if you ask, which can be misleading. As I recall, on that other quiz I had something like INTP - 298, INTJ - 278, ISTP - 250, then the rest were all in the low hundreds or less. What I am saying, is that ENTP may be my fourth preference, but it's still pretty weak, and so it doesn't really amount to much.

Er... INFP? I doubt it. I find it far too likely that my Fe is severely underdeveloped, and that my Fi is pretty much nonexistent.
Perhaps some questions were based on how "nice" I effectively am to people rather than the underlying reason that I tend to be so (my wish to live in a collaborative society)? Or did I just fail the test by giving the wrong answers? Will I get a D grade now? :D
Maybe my Fi function is predominant and just keeping me out of the loop since it knows I'd ruin all the fun.

Yes, it is... : ) I think my testing that way back then was partly do to my not fully understanding how to take the tests, nor a clear perspective of myself, plus a lot of stress. Ah yeah, and I went through a few life-changing events this summer. Did something similar happen with you to bring about this NFness?

All this T here pisses me off.
I've reconsidered (consider it either the NF or the P in me), and think it more fair to say this:
It's more fun, and more importantly, honest to express opinions freely without oft unnecessary filtering for the sake of sounding intellectual. I suppose what I meant with the prior statement was that it seems too many people (especially some rambly clusters here) subscribe themselves to the esteemed T Club to which they really do not fit within without a blatant awkwardness stinking within and subsequently around every post.
Or maybe that's just the emotions talking? :I
If there is one dichotomy balanced within my type, it's T/F. It seems to alter inversely to the general feel of my social surroundings, with perhaps familiarity and being (mostly) incognito playing into the issue. I really don't know.

Hmm, I cannot agree nor disagree with you, though I know what you're talking about...
The T/F is pretty balance with me as well, though this quiz does not accurately reflect that. Do you think you are more open with expressing your feelings when on this forum, for example? Or are you more open in person? Forgive me if I'm prying, I'm just curious.

I ... am not quite sure. 'Honesty' was used to mean opinions reflecting the natural demeanor as opposed to reflecting an idealized yet misunderstood exemplar. Those who don't understand come off as poseurs.
Again, this isn't really a logically sound argument as it can verily be used against me, and who's to verify?
I try not to dabble externally in sophistication since it just doesn't work. Especially so in this forum full of linguistic prowess, rawr.
I'm now thinking it best to summate with "I know my place." This is what I meant when shifting between the T/F according to various social environments. Different situations call for different responses right?
As for being open, which I take to mean a willingness to reveal vulnerabilities, I suppose it is more dependent on the fact that there are multiple ways of opening up, some forms more appropriate according to the situation more than others.
On this forum for example, I can be more open about my family since they'll never see this, about my thoughts of philosophy because the audience is more accessible, and other things that are optimally done here.
On the other hand, being physically amongst friends is inevitably more intimate, which itself lends to the opening of vulnerabilities appropriately revealed with the passing situations. I'm most open to my girlfriend, but even then I won't pummel every single and occasionally flagrant opinion into her out of respect, out of prudence.
Yea I know this isn't a particularly special characteristic of mine. I guess this was a little Chicken Soup for the Paradigmatically-Conflicted Soul.

Different situations call for different responses right?
Yeah, you're right. If you cannot respond in various ways to different situations, you aren't very adapatable. Not being adaptable may translate into feeling constantly out of whack with your situation.
As for being open, which I take to mean a willingness to reveal vulnerabilities, I suppose it is more dependent on the fact that there are multiple ways of opening up, some forms more appropriate according to the situation more than others.

I think many on this forum can fall into different camps, with inter and overlayers as well. Many divulge secrets they wouldn't tell their RL best-friend, their parents, etc, but does that make them "F" or open? I guess what you're saying does explain it well --that according to the situation, different levels of openness are called for.
Perhaps one of the issues with many on this forum is that they don't know what sort of appropriate responses to give for those different situations IRL. Not knowing how to react properly can often result in their being ostracized, or told to be different in some way, which could be confusing them all the more. It could possibly be telling them indirectly that their openness is unappreciated, and so, when in this situation (the forum), may come across as compensatorily open, or seeking to be more like the ideal they envision --of utter detachment and analysis of the world to accumulate more knowledge. That is the INTP ideal, no? I am not making any criticisms of that, but it is something that you're right, happens a lot on here.
Yea I know this isn't a particularly special characteristic of mine. I guess this was a little Chicken Soup for the Paradigmatically-Conflicted Soul.
