View Full Version : Measure your procrastination

I scored pretty darned high on procrastination (91 and 94 out of a possible 100 - I wonder if there is a prize for that?). Of the 2 tests, I think I liked the first one better. The second test (money test) had confusing instructions; I think I did it right, but I am not sure.

The advice offered at the end is O.K., but it's definitely easier said than done.

100 out of 100... Is that even possible? I answered very truthfully too (didn't get past 2 minutes on the circle thing though).
I only took the first one by the way.

72/100 - oddly enough, I am cheap on small things like food and clothes, but will spend more freely on more important items, like cars.

Hmmm....96% accurate finding the circles (I think they drew some 'sideways' that is, I was supposed to click on the ovals, too) and 38% (!!) in procrastination.
Bascially, what I think that says is, that I draw a line. If it needs doing, I'm supposed to be doing it, and I know how, I'll dive in...and get some of it done. Or finish it...or whatever.
....otherwise it can hang there. Right there, it midspace. Which is different than mindspace. Mind, now I've forgotten what I was talking about.

Just have to comment that one of the questions is 'I procrastinate'. Huh? It's a test to measure my procrastination - YOU tell ME!
It would be like having an MBTI test where the questions were "I am INTP - strongly agree, agree..etc.'
Also, I would guess many, like me, were PROCRASTINATING by doing this test. Oh the IRONY...
ANYWAY...
Accuracy = 92.59%
Average Reaction Time = 0.43 seconds
Fastest Reaction Time = 0.35 seconds
Slowest Reaction Time = 0.67 seconds
I got tripped up by the ovals too.
52 out of 100 on the first test, 50 out of 100 on the second one. Sounds about right.
You rank in the middle 50% in terms of procrastination. That is, when it comes to putting things off, you do so at times even though you know you shouldn’t. Likely, you are about average in conscientiousness and self-discipline. Probably, your work doesn’t consistently engage you [BINGO! :) ]or perhaps you are surrounded by a few easily available and more pleasant temptations[like surfing the net...]. These temptations may initially seem rewarding, but in the longer-term, you possibly see a few of them as time-wasters. Though you likely still get your work done, you could probably do it sooner and experience less stress.
By the way, did anyone else find that tax question confusing? I couldn't figure out if I was saying I'd rather pay $300 today than $3000 in 10 days (DUH!) or if I would be paying MORE than $3000 if I delayed payment...??? Or is it just that I am an extreme cheapskate and so the idea of paying a penny more than I have to is abhorrent to me, and this is not normal??

What tax question? I didn't get a tax question (or maybe my mind was elsewhere at the time)
Your score is 63 out of a possible 100 - above average procrastinator
Accuracy = 93.48% (got caught on the ovals too)
Average Reaction Time = 0.45 seconds
Fastest Reaction Time = 0.36 seconds
Slowest Reaction Time = 0.56 seconds
I don't think it handles the INTP focus thing well - I can focus extremely well on things I am interested in, and my mind wanders easily if i'm not - so my answers were somewhat erratic - it depends heavily on the context.
EDIT: oh, there's another one, its got slightly better questions but geez there's a lot of them.

the tax question was part of the second test.
Good point about the focus thing. I answered a lot with 'don't agree or disagree' b/c it depends.

Currently 90 day T-Bills are 2.9% and the LIBOR is 3.2% but I used 5% as a retail rate.

I accidently closed off the window, but those are pretty accurate (procrastination is right on).
After several minutes of the circle test I started to believe that it might go on forever, and that was really the test. Those godamn ovals.

I am too spatially attentive for the circle quiz, as I conistantly ignore the two-dimensional plane of my monitor and categorize elipses as such.
