I picked up a pencil recently and tried copying this one out of a beginner's project book.

I was amazed at how well it came out. I guess I drew more in my childhood than I remember.

Funny how my signature is a garbled mess that never comes out the same way twice. :mellow: :whistle:

Well done. As you continue to practice your drawings might grow from very good to exquisite.

good use of values, contrast. when you start drawing from life make sure you use shading like that rather than lines to convey what you see.

Yeah, I think I posted it in my LJ after I drew it. (I'm using the word "recently" on a somewhat elven scale here)

Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone. I'll keep ya posted with new stuff whenever my sketching mood kicks in and produces results. =P

I don't like the style, I want to see something not drawn out of a book.
If you can't think of something... then sit down on the floor turn your head around and when you see something interesting that is what you will draw.
