?

I've had many instances where these things would be quite.

Ideas of an INTP are constantly changing, and better ones trump old ones. So whats the dealio

?

How long would you want them to be editable for?

Reason I ask is to avoid confusion in finding a thread I've/We've already been following.

Good point, maybe until someone has already replied? or one hour? one day?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Often, we seem to think faster than we can type. :)

A poll that's already in progress doesn't adapt well to change.

My initial thoughts were one day on titles, a few hours on polls - but I figured I'd wait to see what else was said first.

Any other suggestions on time limits?

After some pondering I think that any poll option should be editable up til that choice has been picked by someone, otherwise you can "change people's minds" for them.

BTW: I think that while you are writing up the poll, it should be an option to put an extra option in, or take one out on the fly, rather than having to decide before hand how many options one wants to do.

As for Titles; straight up 1 hour until no editing is allowed. This way its in the same "thought time", 20 hours later, an INTP might have a completely different opinion all together. If its not a short time frame, some things might get confusing.

Great idea. But technically impossible at this point, so we're back to a time limit. Unfortunately.

1 Hour on titles? Is that enough?

What if the edited options will be more more suitable for the people who have already voted? :p

Don't jump the gun. And wait for the window of editability to pass?

I don't know, it just seems like a solution that will work properly only under certain circumstances. Though a forced voting delay would work, true.

I have no opinion on polls because I usually ignore them, but for regular threads, I'd say:

< 50 views, < 3 replies -- whichever comes first.
Really, I have absolutely no idea what would work best. It's just that in the case of regular threads, we're only talking about a title. Personally in any writing I do, I slap on a title sometimes simply to see if it fits. It makes perfect sense that often it needs revising later on.

**edit...I took out the time limit because it doesn't make sense to me. The appropriateness of changing a title seems entirely dependent on how active the forum/thread is, not how long after the thread is created.

i vote for whatever whoever actually edits the code thinks, just as long as it gets to be possible:P
