well, aren't you a funny little person.

The best way to procure his insults is to submit to them.

maybe you should submit to booyalab's comments. after all, that's your advice to other people, right? to just submit? or, is it just when hustler's dishing it out that you think people should take it as if thankful they were spoken to at all?

"INTPs should just submit when being insulted" doesn't sound like advice that even hustler would give.

So? Let him be an asshole/egotist if he wants

again, why? because it's him? because if not, let booya be an opinionated bitch if that's what she wants.

I wouldn't care if an anonymous person tried to insult me or belittle my intelligence. Whatever. I know who I am.

haha!

No, but you are relatively ignorant.

Apparently, you're the one that's ignorant.

I wasn't judging you any more than you were judging everyone who likes to tease Hustler. And unless by "some time" you mean "since Hustler joined", I stand by my original statement.

That's so ridiculous and illogical. But, perhaps that's how long it would take you to understand someone's attitude and online manner.

so, what is it? that you think everyone on the forum should just keep their mouth shut and suck it up while wearing a smile when someone makes a claim about them that's false (which going by your reaction to booya, that's not it), or you think hustler's so fantastic and special that he should be able to insult anyone, even if he's wrong, and they should take it up the wazoo because he's the one who said it?

because, both options are, indeed, illogical bullshit.

nice to meet you! :)

Nice to meet you, too. Why are you and booya so bitter sounding? I started with this site 6 months ago so I feel qualified to give my input. If you read my post, I said that the way to procure insults is to submit to them. So, no, no one should suck up an insult. But at the same time, you people seem to get very emotional about Hustler. He's not insulting you, per se; just your online persona. He doesn't know you. So why give him so much credit.

I don't think he's fantastic at all. I don't give him any thought at all. Yet here we are giving him more attention. I'm moving on.

BTW, Edahn had some nice things to say about you, Digest.

well, let's see. you just said i'm bitter and emotional. two very wrong accusations. what should i do? let it slide because you're saying it in text, and therefore it shouldn't count because it's an 'online persona'? that's not how it works. there are people typing and reading these words (people who even often meet one another in real life) and that's why a lot of people can't help themselves. they aren't less human because it's text. that's the point i was trying to make.

that being said, i'm not bitter. i found what you said funny (in an ironic way), so i replied. also, not once have i mentioned any feelings about the man one way or the other. i don't have a problem with him, personally, but that's not why i didn't. it's because you're the one i was interested in. not him.

had you not caught my attention, i'd have never bothered with posting. i think this thread is stupid as hell, frankly, and i'm with you about moving on.

and, edahn's a real sweetie. :) i can't think of one thing bad to say about him except that he's not in IRC when he damn well should be! (hear that, you?)

That's because affect as a transitive verb means "to produce an effect upon" while effect as a transitive verb means "to bring into being". Effect is correct in the context in which it's used, but affect is more commonly used as a transitive verb. He just had a typical J moment.

Thanks for the clarification, Helium. I knew I was correct but I also had to say something, being that I'm a "J" as well. It's all good.

I see nothing inherently wrong with J behavior. It's quick to make a right conclusion. It's also quick to make a wrong conclusion. Inexperience is likely to lead it to a wrong conclusion.

If you were trying to sound even more NF than usual, then congratulations, you pulled it off.

It occurs to me that you have never met an NF type in the flesh. Can you identify one who was properly typed (not by some hokey website)? I know several and they are remarkably different. They tend to be sarcastic when extroverting and otherwise just silly. When they begin to get "serious," they talk a lot about personal motivation and goals. INTPs who get serious get logical, but when they extrovert they are especially emotive. IXTJs however tend to stay serious introverting and extroverting.

The only other thing I can assume is that you confuse Fe and Fi or otherwise fail to realize that forum members make distinctions in their approach (introverted v. extroverted) to posting. I personally approach it as an extroverted endeavor, so you'll get lots of Ne and Fe from me here.

I think a lot of people are still operating under the mistaken assumption that INTJs are smarter than INTPs and, as such, it only seems plausible for me to be an INTJ. But, in fact, INTPs are the brighter bulbs.

Or maybe it is because of the fact that INTPs tend to be much more modest than INTJs (and ENTPs).

Although I'm still wondering where on the forum has it been implied that INTJs are smarter than INTPs.

For the most part, agreed in both the descriptive and prescriptive sense.

It's to the point that, in my observation, some folks antagonize Hustler before he's gone antagonistic himself (due perhaps to the reputation that seems to precede him?) -- which is their big mistake, only portraying their own immaturity as a result, if not finding themselves outmatched outright.

So, do you think it would be better if I occasionally veered away from my standard approach to posting and instead posted some inane drivel, unintelligible nonsense, and rounded it all off with a healthy dose of illogical sophistry?

I really don't care. It's just a forum - do what you'd like. My point was that you're like Jeff Foxworthy. Same tired schtick over and over again...

In my reality, the majority of people here familiar with both of us are of the opinion that I'm more intelligent than you, and that this commonly-held opinion was derived from the relative merits of our posts and, in particular, those posts in which we were on opposite sides of a debate.

I find this thread entertaining in a way akin to R. Kelly's Trapped In The Closet. It never seems to end and it gets exponentially more retarded as some dimwit pulls twist after twist out of his ass in the muddled hope that it will, in the end, be vindicable.

Nevertheless, it's teh lulz (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jyvzfgxY0kc&feature=related).

Probably that they're bored, and therefore attracted to attention-grabbing thread titles ;)

My first goal at INTP Central was to search for INTP people, get a general idea of what they were and what they had to say. I went to Mass of INTPness first, and I constantly ran into Hustler's agenda. I didn't know quite what it was until I read the other areas of the forum.

Why does it not surprise me when a person's core values, integrity and identity are questioned, that there is a backlash? The same thing is going to happen in a community.

Even in the ancient days of the Internet, the veterans do NOT like their way of life becoming mainstream and suddenly becoming dumbed down.

Outside of that Hustler is quite tame, minus charisma.

to make my statement clearer: (for whatever that is worth)
the way he tries to look like a real sociopath is not smart. maybe he seems perfectly normal in real life, and uses INTPc as some kind of brain carnival to cope with everyday life, but be it like it is for him.

genius = acknowledge your faults and find a solution, even though you don't see your faults as faults. as it makes your life better.
be able to understand whatever is around you, even if you can not relate to it.
just because you can.

being well-adjusted even though you have problems with what surrounds you, because you are able to do so. in case you cant do it out of your guts, doing so solely through your intellect (genius? ;)). einstein is a good comparison here, i guess from what i read about his personality.

BOTTOM LINE:
in some ways he fails HARD, in forum and in life. crosses out "absolute" genius in my opinion. and this means he is just another freak of nature, and not the smartest bulb in the luster.
(that said, me being able to write down this also points to some "FAIL!" in my life, but at least i get the idea.)

i don't know if my point is understandable, as my mind jumped through some hoops while i remembered what made me write this one-word-response above.
but if he is a genius, he will have no trouble at all with understanding this post AND showing it.

well, if anything written in this forum helps him anyhow, i am glad. really.
