What is your Heritage? I am mostly Irish ( and proud of it!), but I have some German in me. I am related to General Phillip Sheridan, who was a Union General during the civil war. He burnt the Shenendoah valley. I don't know if I am related to any one else who is famous. Oh and I also have just a tiny bit of Scotch in me.

Both of my parents are Mexican, but I am American. lol
100% Mexican. I don't think I am related to anyone famous, except possibly Eminem and/or Tony Shalhoub.

I'm a mutt: 1/4 Scotch, 1/4 German, 1/4 Slovak, 1/8 Irish, 1/8 some indeterminate Slavic ancestry (either Slovak, Slovenian, or Serbian).
Famous relatives: Frank and Jesse James, Johnny Appleseed, Captain Sir Henry Morgan.

I am 5th generation Canadian.
Way back when there was some English, Irish, Scotish and German folks but after 5 generations it is pretty much considered here that my heritage is Canadian.

Aztec, French (my grandma on my dad's side), Spanish (more so because of the moors), and possibly some Asian, not too sure which (mom is adopted). All in all it makes sense, because I am Mexican.

Just your standard American mutt: English with some French on my dad's side and German with some Welsh and Czech on my mom's. I'm one of those Mayflower descendants... I think I'm directly related (the great great great... great granddaughter) of the governor of Plymouth, and also directly related to a guy who fell overboard on the voyage from England. But there's nobody interesting in my bloodline since the 1600s, which is sad.

English, French-Canadian, Scottish, Irish mutt, supposedly a little Dutch-German on my dad's side somewhere. Like Miss Padfoot, I'm a Pilgrim descendant, but not from a particularly "special" or high-ranking one...the male ancestor signed the Mayflower Compact but didn't survive the first winter, I think. His wife and daughters lasted a while, though, and one of the daughters eventually became part of my family line.

Full Irish.
Utterly boring. I can't think of anyone famous I'm related to, except for a national rugby player that shares my surname.
But! My family used to rule a county way back when.

Scotch-Irish on my father's side, French on my mother's. I don't think I have any famous relatives, but I could be wrong.

I don't know, I haven't been able to trace my genealogy very far back and I haven't found anyone in my family who has. I'm almost sure that I have German and Irish, but beyond that, I don't know.
The most famous relative that I know of is Lester Flatt (http://www.flatt-and-scruggs.com/lesterbio.html). He was my grandmother's cousin.

English, Irish, Welsh and one french guy my family tries keep secret (Rambeau, heh, great name) cos they're freaking nationalistic SJs. so on my dad's side there's sir francis bryan, "the vicar of hell" who helped henry VIII get rid of catherine of aragon and anne boleyn; and william jennings bryan. my mom's side has doc holliday and a current mlb player. basically, my dad's side have trouble keeping their mental faculties in working order and my mom's side like to abuse alcohol, drugs (or traffick them, lol) and engage in wild, reckless behavior. And I don't necessarily mean the ppl I mentioned but more as a general rule. but of course no one knows this. oh no, not in my small town where rumors are plucked from nosy neighbors like dandelions and carried all over town by the faintest of breezes. but now y'all know, and I take great delight in that because I know if my parents found out, they'd be furious.

Somehow I'll always remember that 'The Vicar of Hell' & William Jennings Bryan were related...
In England we used to have a saying: 'As black as the Duke of Hell's riding-boots'.
Rambeau does appear to be a French name, but if your family's not that thrilled, could it have been the excellent Arthur Rimbaud, friend and protege of the equally excellent Baudelaire ? Cool.

heh, yeah they'd get a kick out of that. nah, I'm pretty sure it was "Rambeau", I remember my dad making fun of the name. also, it was a wee bit before his time. but I could always "adopt" him and make my family proud. ;)

the usual- English, proud to be Scots and Welsh, plus to add a bit of spice- Swedish, French, Jamaican, Bulgarian...
The coolest person I'm related to would be the Barron De La Warr who has a state named after him. (there are actually lots of cool people in my family's history, but none of them are famous :) )

I am 1/4 Swedish, 1/4 Norwegian from my dad. My mom claims to be "Heinz57", but that's a European Heinz57 (German, Irish, etc. ?) Heritage is fun because it gives you a special signature much like astrology does.

Scotch-Irish, in some mixture I don't know. More Scotch. (In a bigger glass next time, eh?) My dad is way big into genealogy... it's his hobby. He ties up the computer regularly... but I don't have to care anymore. Woo.

I'm mostly German descent. We are mostly in central Pennsylvania, what is known as "Pennsylvania Dutch" country. It is known as that, though most there are of German descent, because when the area was first settled by German speaking folk, they didn't call themselves Germans, they called themselves "Duetche" which is the German word for German. Americans, in thier wisdom and knowledge, thought they were Dutch. The name stuck, and the people of the area began to like it when the German nation started committing atrocities and going to war with everyone. My family line was lost when my grandfather dissapeared with the family bible that had all the generations of the family back to before we came to the US. I have not researched further, so I don't know who may be in my ancestry. My step-brother is an actor, and was is the movie Jawbreaker, and also Gattaca. My stepdads fathers cousin is Robert Stack, from unsolved Mysteries.
My wife's Family is well traced for a long way back, she is mostly Scottish, with some Irish, German, French, English, Welsh, and Polish mixed in there. She is a descendant of Rob Roy McGregor.

Um, d'you mean Scots and Irish or Scots-Irish which is the term the Yanks use, although no-one else ever has, for Ulsterfolk ?
If this question flummoxes you, I'll make it easier: do you have a piece of semtex in your pocket ?

My heritage is German + (a "your guess is as good as mine" variable), as my family is very small, fragmented, and very INTP. Lots of sauerkraut when I was growing up, and my Grandmother would sing German songs to me as a very young kid.
Guess how many family pictures we have...

Studies have shown that the less related your parents were the better your genes should be and you will be a more well-rounded individual than say...someone whos parents grew up in the same town.
So its good to have parents from different parts of the world.
I am 1/4 Maori, 1/4 chzekoslovakian (not sure which part, slovakia or Chzek rebublic) 1/4 scott and 1/4 english.
The coolest person we are related to is King Henry the 8th-who fathered an ancestor of mine with a mistress of his.
Standard American Mutt: English, Geman, Russian, Austrian, Welsh, probably many more.
