"The Island" - a modern attempt at utopia.

I firmly believe that I can create the perfect world. What more is the perfect world than organized chaos? Not much I suspect. If a government starts off with nothing but knowledge and human power, it can work. The only things the government need start with is books of medicine, chemistry, mathamatics, physics, and perhaps some others. I am at a loss for thinking of them right now though. I can create electricity, ice, heat, fire, and water as well as tools from the natural environment. Granted, it is challenging, and wave powered sterling engines that created ice would take a while for one person to build. I think it can be done. Of course citrus, and perhaps corn would be brought to the island as a food source, but meat can be acquired from the ocean. There would be three equal rulers, they have the deciding votes on everything. One would be a judge, one would be a planner, and one would be in charge of doing, motivating. Everyone has a similar life style, the only thing that varies would be the people's jobs. If people do not do their job, then they are fittingly punished by the judge. The only exception is any one of the three can punish any other one of the three. The public then decides if the punishment is fitting. If it isn't, then there is never any punishment given.

I planned on throwing the idea around and perhaps doing it after I got out of highschool. You can make so many things out of nothing. Radios out of kites. Kites out of sticks and string. If it doesn't work out, then there is always 5-6 years before scholarships expire.

Just remember about those three rulers, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Is the position in the three lifelong, or voted on periodically. What about missuse of skills, injury, illness, famine, corruption, natural disaster, overpopulation, the handicapped? What happens when the fisherman starts thinking that the scientist isn't pulling his weight. What happens when another culture decides they like your island and want to take it from you? What if some don't want to play by the rules?

Don't worry. Hundreds of rules can certainly take care of such problems. The people must accept that everyone is equal and given a job base on their skills. The rulers must be mad, and they elect others to take their spot as they see fit. Everyone is given jobs. Not careers.

Perhaps, Perhaps, but I was going to start on a very small scale. Maybe do an aztec type setup since realestate is so expensive. I might look for something off South America.

I always wanted to build an oil platform in international waters and start my own nation. A nation of sin, vice, offshore banking, and webservers dedicated to porn, gambling, and media piracy.

And "Emperor James" certainly has a nice ring.

I think I rather would live on an Island with my friends and family and start from there.

You made your first mistake right there. Perfection is now gone.

I don't know about this one. The competition is fierce. B)
